My sentimental Italian moment in Rotterdam
Top left was the lardo carbonara, which according to my friend who shall be known as quads man “tasted good, but had been completely smothered in parmesan”. I tucked into the St Marcellin Tortellini and unfortunately the taste was really poor. The cheese in the middle wasn’t gooey and there wasn’t much of it. Also, the tortellini was a bit leathery. Overall both dishes were poorly presented and lacked execution. I actually discussed these issues with Neil and he was heavily apologetic, and clearly these were just a few teething issues as the restaurant had only been open a week. I hope to go back and expect the starters to be better.
