I love curry puffs but I don’t tend to deep fry, so rarely make them. This time I used the rather excellent pastry recipe from @honeyandco
instead of the usual spiral pastry as it tends to bake better, together with the meat/potato/pea filling. Maybe I can call it a “Malaysian pasty”! 😆

With Taylor’s first birthday around the corner, I haven’t had much time to post any new recipes!😅 But I did manage to record a bit while making Tay some Korean Crab Cakes for lunch today😋
So if you’re familiar with Crab sticks, they’re actually made of pulverized white fish. Most commonly used in Japanese cuisine such as California Rolls, “Surimi” literally means ground meat. In Korean, “개 맛살” translates to Imitation Crab meat. .
1 package imitation crab sticks (144g)
1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced
4-5 scallions, chopped
Pinch of Salt, and Black pepper to taste ( I ommited this for Taylor)
Shred the imitation crab sticks as if you're pulling apart string cheese and place in a bowl. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and add sliced onions, shredded crab sticks and green onions and mix together. Heat a large pan with 1 Tbsp of oil over medium/low heat. Using a spoon or chopsticks, take 2 Tbsp of the crab mixture and place onto the pan. Shape into round patties and pan fry them until both sides are golden. Will yield about 16 crab cakes. (For Taylor, I made a larger omelette and sliced them into “sticks” to make it easier for her to eat.) Hope you enjoy them!😘

Yes, it’s hummus but you’d never know it! It’s super creamy, totally chocolaty and rich as can be. So now you’re wondering how can that be healthy, right? It is! It has the necessary chickpea base but then I added Greek yogurt, some pure maple syrup and vanilla and the magic ingredient, Barlean’s Chocolate Silk Greens powder. Tucked away in a strip mall near my house is a North African market and restaurant, where I can get my fix of roasted cauliflower, mujadara, merguez meatballs, tabbouli, harissa, hummus, mint tea and so much more. Can’t wait to explore this menu (don’t even get me started on their creative gelato flavors like rose water baklava, Turkish coffee, and lavender and honey). So excited to have this place so near, and to have an easy source for things like tahini and orange blossom water 🙌

‘s annual Prefect Ten art show. I watched mostly in silence while he worked on the tiniest of details. He’s work is a combination of beautiful leaf work, gem stone colors with influence from the Old American and Japanese style. He went for short break to go spend time with family. He thank me for the coffee kindly and said he enjoyed it very much. It was a mutual feeling of tranquillity among comrades.
