Have you ever seen someone walking into the gym with a protein bar? Or eating on a cardio machine?
Regardless of what that persons goal is, that’s a big mistake. Sometimes people falsely believe if they eat right before a workout it will give them energy. Your body doesn’t work like that. Food needs to be digested and absorbed before its used as energy for a workout! .
If you need a quick blood sugar boost during a workout, choose something like Gatorade or coconut water. The glucose content in these beverages is diluted enough so that it can be absorbed directly into the blood stream, rather than going through the digestive tract, and can provide instant fuel .
If you’re eating a balanced diet and exercising in moderation you shouldn’t need an extra glucose boost unless your exercising intensely for over and hour or in extreme weather conditions .
No need to drink sugar / 🥤 calories otherwise! And eating a bar will not only take away from the workout but also defeats the purpose of the workout goal is fat loss or weight loss
🇮🇹 Sarà anche fine Ottobre, ma qui di pomeriggio -per la mia gioia- fa ancora un bel caldo e al sole si sta tranquillamente in maglietta, quindi bevo ancora con piacere bevande fredde! Mi sembra doveroso approfittare dei 25 gradi pomeridiani finché durano per bere una versione del matcha diversa dalla solita tazza di tè bollente (ne avremo tutto il tempo,sigh). Oltrettutto sì, è vero che di pomeriggio si sta bene, ma nelle prime ore del giorno e la sera non è che faccia tutto sta gran caldo, quindi togli il giacchino, metti il giacchino, lasci a casa lo sciarpino, insomma, i malanni di stagione sono sempre alle porte. Questa limonata al tè matcha è anche l’ideale per fare il pieno di vitamina C e antiossidanti, e grazie all’acqua filtrata con la caraffa BWT, anche di magnesio! Per realizzarla ho infatti utilizzato la caraffa @bwtitalia
che oltre a purificare l’acqua da cloro e metalli pesanti (e a togliere di mezzo la plastica!) la mineralizza, arricchendola appunto di magnesio, di cui è sempre utile avere una fonte in più per chi fa sport. Un elisir di lunga vita praticamente!:D
Per circa un litro di limonata dovrete solo mettere a scaldare una parte dell’acqua e sciogliervi un cucchiaino di matcha e la stevia pura, in polvere, a seconda del vostro gusto (è molto dolce quindi anche di quella non supererei il 1/2 cucchiaino!). Aggiungete quindi 1/4 di bicchiere di succo di limone (a cui potete aggiungere anche del lime) e il resto dell’acqua, fredda. E per portarla con voi, c’è la bottiglia in vetro apposta 💁🏻♀️✨

of ‘Blueberry & Lime Bars’. You’ll make 9 bars with each containing 187kcals, 22g #carbs
, 9g #protein
and 7g #fat
–take one to work and promise yourself this when you need it most – OK I annoyingly overcooked this batch but they taste damn good and you’ll feel full and crave less at the end of it. Enjoy…
100g ripe banana (mashed)
Zest of 2 limes
75g peanut butter
40g greek yoghurt
30g vanilla protein powder (optional)
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1) Preheat oven 170 ˚C
2) Mix thoroughly mashed banana, eggs, honey, lime zest, peanut butter and yoghurt.
3) Add in oats, protein powder, baking powder, sea salt and fresh blueberries
4) Place in an ovenproof dish about 15cm by 15cm lined with baking paper and spread mix evenly
5) Bake in the oven for 30 mins – BUT check and don’t get distracted so they over cook!

So today I made a very late breakfast due to a working night 😴 It was a while since these protein pancakes where going over my head, today I had all the ingredients so I just felt like I need to make them and they are DELICIOUS! 😋✨🥞🍌🍎 And the beautiful thing here is that if you use protein then the protein shaker is enough! 🤩 You don’t need a mixer!
Catch the recipe which is below and enjoy them by yourself! Here it is:
1 egg (without if vegan)
1 glass of an almond milk
1/3 glass of a sparkling water
1 scoop of a protein powder (in my case chocolate peanut butter protein powder from @biotechusa_pl
; if you are a vegan - then plant based protein powder)
1 pinch of a cinnamon (I add cinnamon almost everytime I have a chance, because of it’s amazing stimulating metabolism functions 👍🏻)
1 glass of a flour
2 spoons of spelled bran
Additives - any you like - I chose what I had at that time:
1 small banana
1 spoon of a natural peanut butter (pls read the label and buy the ones without palm oil - let’s make even a small impact with our abandonment of supporting the brands which deprive orangutans their home and destroy forests to extract palm oil 🙏🏻💪🏻👊🏻 #stoppalmoil #savetheorangutans
1/2 of an apple
1 spoon of a jam of sea buckthorn (my favourite childhood taste! Did you know that a sea buckthorn grows in Mongolia? 😉).
Pour all the powders and the liquids into the shaker and SHAKE’EM!! 😅 Beat the egg separately simply by fork, then pour it into the mixture and shake again. One of the next pluses of a protein shaker is that the pancake batter is so easily poured from it straight into a hot pan! 👌🏻 The measures I gave you above give 8 pancakes, so it’s a perfect and easy breakfast for two or for the next day to enjoy it again 😍 Bon appetite!

Ever have one of those days where you just need 5 minutes to sit and stare blankly? The days where so much shit is going on and you feel paralyzed by all that needs to get done or all that you SHOULD be doing. And you are STRESSED beyond belief! That was me today. I was so damn overwhelmed, feeling pulled in a million directions, pressed for time etc etc etc, that I just parked my car and took a minute to breath. I couldn’t even muster the energy to take my seat belt off! .
It is so important that you take these moments to just stop, breath and regroup. We often run ourselves ragged to get everything done. We beat ourselves up because we are not getting to all 1,000 things on the to do list. “I didn’t get to the gym, I ate like shit because I was running around, I won’t have time to meal prep….I am sure you could continue this laundry list of insults. BUT what you need to realize is that all this STRESS is taking a toll on your body. And every healthy habit that you are trying to incorporate into your life, eating better and working out, will be sabotaged by your constant level of stress and anxiety. .
Start to incorporate stress management techniques into your daily routine and you will see huge returns on how you are feeling! Some options include:
BREATH- Really take a moment to stop and breath. Pull the car over, stop in the middle of the grocery store. Just breath!
MEDITATE- If you don’t know how there is certainly an app for it. I recommend Headspace
EXERCISE- Do something you enjoy not something you feel like you should be doing. Do Zumba and dance your ass off if thats what you like
YOGA- Movement + breath work is amazing for stress. And if you don’t know how to do yoga I have been told you can just lie there and breath and its still yoga.
LAUGH- So hard you could cry. Call a friend, vent about it and then just laugh your ass off! .

My first breakfast this morning before work😊 I had overnight oats made in an almost empty peanut butter jar, (idea from @thefoodmedic
😍) it’s the best way to make overnight oats! I soaked them in the fridge overnight & heated them up and topped with some blueberry chia jam, hemp seeds and more peanut butter🙊 so delish!

🇮🇹 A volte vorrei sentire le cose un po’ “meno”. Essere meno emotiva e meno nostalgica, più svelta nel reagire a determinate circostanze senza crogiolarmi nel malinconico ricordo all’infinito. E invece spesso mi sembra di vivere tutto in modo talmente amplificato, di attaccarmi all’idea di una presenza e di soffrirne quando mi rendo conto che è diventata assenza e molto probabilmente lo rimarrà, rimugino, ripenso fino a perdere contatto col qui ed ora. Fino a quando non mi abituerò di nuovo anche all’assenza. D’altronde ho dovuto farlo ormai tante volte. Questa settimana parte un po’ letargica, pensosa, inquieta. E la voglia di comfort food, non lo nego, è un un po’ più forte. 🇬🇧 Sometimes I really wish I could feel things and situations less “deeply”. Indeed I’m this sensitive and emotional girl who gets attached easily to people who share a part of my life journey with me, to the idea of having someone in my life that I find it hard sometimes to accept the idea that part to be definitely over and that I’ll have to get used to the absence. Yet I did it so may times before! This week has started letargic, thoughtful, melancholic, and the need of comfort food is a little stronger than usual. I think there’s gonna be more chocolate around here for a while. Since the source of my current health issue may be as simple as a Vitamin D deficiency, I am getting as much sun as possible before the cold winter months. Even with temperatures in the 40’s, my deck can be so warm with the morning sun. It’s really beautiful this morning. Not only does the sun help with boosting your Vit D, it’s also a great mood lifter!
We’ve had our first frost but some of my flowers are still holding strong and looking beautiful and colorful.
I continue to slowly get back into my workouts, slow and steady, working my way back to my regular fitness schedule. I’ve been very disciplined with my eating and I believe that is giving a real boost to my health as well.
I will keep enjoying this fall weather while we still have it. 🎃🍁🍂

Dinner tonight was so quick and easy, but so delicious🤤 I haven’t had salmon in so long, but it tastes so good! I cooked the salmon with chilli, garlic, paprika, black pepper & a little soy sauce and the same on the veg, popped it all on a tray and into the oven! Served with brown rice & a big dollop of hummus☺️ same again for lunch tomorrow as I made double 🤗
