After a conversation with a freind today about how I have a special knack for making everything gluten/sugar free still taste great...I decided to post a challenge. Everyone needs a good go-to green smoothie recipe! This one is mildly sweet and nutty. I have gotten really sick of protein powder. It’s expensive and often overly sweet. Lately, I have been using hard boiled eggs for a more natural protein source. They add a surprising creaminess and are difficult to detect in your final product.
3 cups packed fresh spinach
2 Tbsp almond butter
1/2 cup almond milk
1 cup cold water
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 hard boiled eggs. Sounds weird but trust me! Or if you don’t trust me use a scoop of vanilla protein powder instead 😁
1 Tbsp honey or a couple drops of stevia
Blend until silky smooth and enjoy!
I had a quick biz trip to Chicago Tues- Wed, so I missed 2 kiddo bed times and, if I’m being honest, only 1 kiddo bath time. At some point in the 30 hours I was gone, my 5.5 yo got gum in her hair - a right of passage for any long haired little.
Of course, I can’t point a finger at hubs since I didn’t notice the clump of goop in her hair until I was brushing it this am... at school during drop off... and thought it was just icing 🤷🏻♀️. As I went immediately for a pair of scissors, Bay’s pre-k teacher reminded me some baby oil might do the trick(hoping argan or coconut oil works, too). So I pulled the ponytail holder out of my unbrushed hair + threw hers in the messiest of buns + filed it under “to deal with later”. #

We always like to blame our diet failure on some food item or lousy workout program… Today, can I challenge you to do a self-audit and see if it’s really a food problem… or a ‘people’ problem? -
Having talked to thousands of people about their fitness and health… I’ve heard it all:
Boss always wants you to stay late, finish that last report, work long hours and expect you to be healthy and show up every single day. How can you ever work-out if you’re working 8am-10pm daily? If your boss is putting your work over your healthy priorities… you need to have a chat with him/her and explain your situation - don’t take NO for an answer easily. When I used to work in an IT company years ago.. I had bosses who totally approved that I would work-out in the morning/evening (as long as I got my work done!). If your boss is obese, over-works and doesn’t give a crap about health… then RUN away. .
Spouse/partner doesn’t approve of you ‘working out?’. Well listen sunshine… you don’t need anyone’s approval to take care of YOU. Do this for yourself… not anyone else.
Work colleagues always making fun of that healthy meal you brought from home? Listen… there will always be people who put you down, and mock you and say that your time at the gym and eating healthy is a waste - but here’s what I think - if anyone says that to you, they are only projecting their own insecurity on you. They wish THEY ate healthy like you and trained hard at the gym like you… but they don’t… so it’s just easier to make fun of you since they’re nowhere close. Makes sense? So if someone says something to hurt you - I want you to see if from a whole new light now. People who hurt you are actually hurting on the inside themselves
Eating crap because your kids ‘made’ you go eat fast food? Seriously? Do you let your kids make financial decisions for the household too? No right? Then why do your kids get to decide whether you eat healthy or not? . Comment below if YOU TOO have a ‘human obstacle’ in reaching your weightloss goals 💪🏼
