’s 30 years and fresh new look post renovations with some awesome food and wine pairings.
My favourite was the pasta course consisting of Lemon Conchigliette (with chorizo, scallops, prawns, snap peas, poblano and basil chèvre Parmesan cream), Elk Gnocchi (with CRMR elk rib, tomato ragu, kale, Parmesan and salt cured egg yolk), and Penne Bolognese (with slow braised beef tenderloin, pancetta and basil). It was perfectly paired with the uniquely orange coloured 2004 Radikon Ribolla Gialla.
Other delicious bites included:
1. Canapés consisting of Beef Striploin Meatballs, CRMR Bison Tartare and Forna Baked Pizza paired with a double magnum of 2011 Wagner Stempel Riesling Heerkretz
2. Forno Roasted Olives, Pork Fried Almonds, Brown Butter Carrots & Parsnips, Charcuterie paired with 2015 Testalonga Chenin Blanc Cortez
3. Tender CRMR Braised Bison Short Ribs in brown cola braise and a Kale & Romaine Caesar with soft poached quail egg paired with 2011 Birds and Bats Three Years Down
We finished off with a cheese course with @crmrkitchen
rosemary fig jam and mustard melons paired with a beautiful tall bottle of 2002 ReichsgrafVon Kesselstatt Riesling Josephshofer Monopole. This was definitely one of my favourite wines of the night.
