VONDER CLUB HOUSE • [ad - invitation] Ok people I know you will think I’m just saying this because it was an invitation but I’m always being honest in my reviews so believe me when I say that the Twisted Benedict (8,9€) from this place is OUTSTANDING. Poached eggs 🥚 + roasted eggplant 🍆 + greens 🌱 on challah bread 🥖 with pink beetroot tahini 💗 and chives... doesn’t that sound delicious already? The mix of flavors was amazing: the eggplant was super yummy (not soggy at all!), not to mention that the eggs were perfectly cooked and the tahini wasn’t just aesthetically pleasant but also super tasty 🤤. Plus the chives gave it a hint of flavor that complemented all perfectly 🌱. I swear I’m dreaming of that dish ever since I had it 😍💭. I can’t but recommend you to try it! ✨ They serve also other brunch options that sound super good, like the Artvocado 🥑 (avocado on sourdough bread + homemade tomato cream cheese 🍅🧀 seasoned with a seed-mix - 5,6€) or oatmeal (either overnight or porridge with toppings 🍌🍓🍫🥜 - 4,9€) and prices are also pretty fair 👌🏻✨💸. Last week @in_stephan proposed me to visit @layla_berlin runned by @chef_meir_adoni and after checking the varied menu online I took the opportunity! Shown in the pictures: - Veal tartar with eggplant cream, goat labaneh and tahini - Kubbana brioche with aioli paprika, crushed tomato and schug olive oil - Turkish Veal Delight: loin seasoned with coffee and cardamom, chestnut cream, pumpkin and macadamia nuts - Earth: halva mousse, almond crumble, porcini ash, chocolate stones - Chocolate Cremeux: salted caramel foam, candied almonds, cocoa sticks and date brioche. It was my first time in a high end restaurant and I was so impressed by the mix of flavours, the aesthetics of each dish and the combination of Israelian traditions with innovation. In the menu there are other dishes I'd like to try and so I hope I could go back to Layla another time! Per molti decenni, il Lebkuchen è diventato parte integrante della cottura natalizia. Il Lebkuchen è una pasta speziata, estremamente dolce e di lunga durata, disponibile in molte varietà e forme e le spezie caratteristiche sono: cannella, finocchio, anice, cardamomo, zenzero, noce moscata, pimento e chiodi di garofano. Ma cosa c'è esattamente dietro al termine " Lebkuchen"? Le prime informazioni scritte sugli egiziani che mangiavano dolci al miele risalgono al 350 a.C. Anche i romani spennellavano le loro torte con il miele prima di infornare. Il pan di zenzero che conosciamo oggi risale al XII secolo. È stato inventato a Dinant in Belgio, da dove ha rapidamente trovato la sua strada nei monasteri franconi e di Aquisgrana. Grazie alla suo apporto calorico e alla lungo mantenimento, il pan di zenzero era usato come pasta per persone affamate, specialmente in inverno. Più tardi fu cotta nei monasteri come dessert e si diffuse in tutto il paese. Il nome è probabilmente deriva dalla parola latina "libum", che si traduce in "piatto" o "torta sacrificale". ❤❤❤ For many decades, Lebkuchen has become an integral part of Christmas baking. Lebkuchen is a spicy, extremely sweet and long-lasting pasta, available in many varieties and shapes and its typical spices are: cinnamon, fennel, anise, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and cloves. But what exactly is behind the term " Lebkuchen"? The first information written about the Egyptians who ate honey desserts dates back to 350 BC. Even the Roman brushed their cakes with honey before baking. The gingerbread as we know today dates back to the 12th century. It was invented in Dinant in Belgium, from where it quickly found its way into the Franconian and Aachen monasteries. Thanks to its caloric intake and long maintenance, gingerbread was used as a paste for hungry people, especially in winter. Later it was cooked in monasteries as a dessert and spread throughout the country. The name is probably derived from the Latin word "libum", which translates into "dish" or "sacrificial cake".

I finally managed to try Korean fried chicken at @chibeeberlin. I was there with my friend @hungry_diana and we both ordered the small portion of rude chicken bites (with spicy sauce) and coleslaw for me and fries for her. We asked for our sauce to be extra spicy and they listened to us.. it was extra extra spicy! 👩‍🚒🔥 The coleslaw helped me to cool down my burning hot mouth! 😆 The Korean fried chicken was as I imagined it: big portion of meat inside, crunchy and not too oily. Brokies, I am finishing up my #bánhmì mì in Mitte trilogy as promised. My intention isn't to rank the three spots #côcô @banhmistable & @mamavanberlin. They literally all bring something slightly different to the table. And although @banhmistable stands out a bit, the classic banh mi at @mamavanberlin is great - and it's 4.50€. The #baguette is crispy and light. They are generous with the #mayo (as @bangpowwww pointed out, where I found the place), not so much with the meat. But like I said, I'm not gonna pit one against the other. TRATTORIA PIZZERIA ROMA • [ad - invitation] Reminiscing about the pasta plate my fellow foodies and I had the opportunity to share at @trattoriapizzeria.roma ! 🤤💭✨. Homemade truffle tortellini, penne with tomato sauce and eggplant 🍅🍆 and tagliatelle al nero di sepia with salmon 🍝🦑🐟. The tortellini were definitely one of the highlights of the night 😍❤️. The pasta was perfectly cooked, so chewy, not too hard, not too soft, and the truffle pieces + the oil made every bite taste heavenly 🥰. Also worth mentioning is that all the ingredients were super fresh, don’t forget (from my previous post) that the owner of the place even showed me a pic of the salmons he had bought in the market that very morning to make this particular dish 📸. So lovely 😂💕. As you maybe know I import artisanal #Manchego D.O.P, that Cristina makes in Ciudad Real, to #Berlin among other stuff. Today I wanted to show you how I take care of it. It has a natural rind, so some white mold shows up on it after a while. I leave it there because it adds personality to the flavour, but from time to time I brush the rind well, and I hydrate them spreading extra virgin olive oil with my hands. The body temperature helps the pores to get opened and, as if it was a cosmetic treatment, makes them shine like a lactic diamond. If you are interested on get some, hit me up and I’ll let you know the shops and restaurants who have it. Next week a second type of cheese will join the family.
