The glass onion
Glass onion tucked into the beautiful golf course is as fresh and new .
Barely a month old and pulling it off strong with F9 running the management .
Full of surprises with its robust and tasty fair though pricing could be on the higher front with small portion meals .
The interiors are pastels and refreshing .
We started off with some refreshments.
Black Avalanche & Mint cooler we’re just perfect keeping in mind the soaring temperatures .
Followed by lip smacking starters .
Cottage cheese skewers grilled to perfection .
Muchus Nachos were to the perfection an in-house preparation . Broccoli cheese kebabs were flawless.
The portion size of starters serve only 2 only which unfortunately was not informed by the staff .
Coming to the mains ,
Thin crust pizza folded with mozzarella , Penne in buttery white sauce with spinach capers and ricotta equally sumptuous .
Ravioli with spinach and pine nuts tossed in fresh wild mushroom
Butter sauce was delicious however high on the salt content .
Lastly the Mumbai sandwich was a total disappointment . Either they could have reconstructed the whole new Mumbai sandwich or sticked to the original version . Here however it was soggy and accompanied with lecture which quite changes the whole taste .
Glass onion has introduced the inside cellar wherein you purchase a bottle of liquor and you get the cellar key to safe guard your bottle until your next visit . What more the cellar is reserved against your name .
You should happen to be in the vicinity it’s a must visit for the highly tempting flavors and the beautiful view with a sunset .

One of the many things that connect winter and the Bongs is “Nolen Gur or Date Palm Jaggery!!!! Made the yummy n delectable Nolen Gur (date palm jaggery) er paayesh(rice pudding) with the stock of Nolen Gur Maa gave me on my visit to Kolkata last week!!!...the amazing aroma of Nolen Gur along with Gobindobhog rice(an aromatic small grain rice used for making kheer or paayesh it rice pudding) made the whole house smell like heaven!!!..a treat during winters...this kheer or paayesh or rice pudding is a must at every bong’s house during Makar Sankranti and thus many fond memories are attatched to it!!!..this one is the only dessert my Baba would look forward to having, as its sugarless and Maa would make it less sweet and keep it aside for Baba before adding some more pieces of Nolen Gur or patali Gur to it!!!...the caramelised, silky rich creamy texture makes it the most desirable dessert of all for everyone!!!..best part is it’s a totally healthy version of kheer as date palm jaggery is used instead of sugar!!!
