Let's talk supplements.
Many new raw feeders get overwhelmed by all the various supplements. There are dozens of different functional foods that you can add to your dog's diet to give it a boost. This bowl has a TON. But, many of these fantastic functional foods are strictly optional. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My recommendation for new raw feeders is to focus on the basics. Learn how to make a simple balanced diet for your dog using meat, bone and organ. If you can't feed bone, use some other source of calcium to balance the phosphorus. Give your dog some time to adjust to their new raw diet with just these limited ingredients.
The first, and most important supplement I recommend is oily fish or another source of Omega 3. Adding Omega 3 to your dog's diet helps to balance the fats.
Once your dog has adjusted to this basic balanced diet, then you can dive into the wonderful world of functional food supplements.
How about you? Do you supplement?
Absolutely laaaavly dinner this evening (if I do say so myself).
I’ve got some warm lentils cooked in garlic, fresh rosemary, red onion, sundried tomatoes & a drizzle of balsamic on a bed of rocket & sweetcorn topped with grilled cod, an egg, feta & avocado mashed with Greek yoghurt.
A meal packed full of protein, fats & carbs to refuel after a busy day 💁🏻♀️.
I usually make up my plates by aiming for 1/2 my plate plant based foods or veggies then add a palm of lean protein, a cup handful of carbs & a thumb of fats. I don’t track or count calories and never had. I’m a firm believer in nutrients not numbers 🌈

One of my favorite go-to lunches when I have no leftovers or plans for lunch is cauli fried rice because it comes together fast and I usually have the main ingredients on hand. I go off of @jays_bakingmecrazy recipe and just adapt based off what I have. Today added some chicken apple sausage for extra protein and because I was super hungry. #
&&& just like that we have our very own @saltandstraw shop in Seattle! ✔️ This PNW favorite used to be a 3 hr drive away and a must-have on any Portland roadtrip. 🍦
Stop in to their new shop in Cap Hill for a taste of their crazy (delicious) flavors like @beecherscheese with Peppercorn Toffee or Rachel’s Raspberry Ginger Beer (👋🏽 @rgbsoda ).
Not only do we like - no love - their product, we ❤️ what they stand for: “creating the kind of company that’s fun to support, work for, and partner with. We’’re about building strong local community – both in the neighborhoods where we do business and by purchasing as many local products as possible”.
Pro tip: order the flight so you don’t have to decide which flavor to try 😉
meal prep saves my life during busy weeks!! from top to bottom: rosemary roasted sweet potatoes, baby kale, baked tofu, quinoa, pepitas (all dressed in red pepper flakes, olive oil, and lemon juice

I’ve been so busy posting about food, then I had to spice it up with some fitness! 😂
The bent over tow with an underhand grip is a great way to target your major back muscles. This is your Traps, Rhomboids, Posterior Delt, and Lats! By changing your grip is how you can change what muscles are activated most.
With the Underhand grip, your biceps are activated more as well as your core to stabilize you throughout the ROM! Happy Back Day!
Today is “refeed” day... yeah ok Brooke who cares...
I do because I’m eating so much food. I feel like I’ve been sitting at my desk just eating all day 😂😂😂 I’m sure i have had food in my mouth every time Dr. Viers has come to talk to me. He doesn’t care in fact he’s been telling me to eat this way for 10 years.
There is a method to this fantastic madness and it not to let us get a taste of sugar and processed foods. Or to have a cheat day. There is a specific list of foods that we can use as these extra carbs we are eating. It’s not a free for all.
It’s to ideally kick start our metabolism. See overtime (34 days) our metabolism adapts to the stress you put on your body and it slows down accordingly. Therefor slowing down the lean out or fat loss process.
So although i may have enjoyed that cookie it was to sweet and i honestly didn’t even want to finish it. Judge me all you want but it’s the truth. Clearly in 34 days i have adjusted very well to my new nutrition lifestyle.
Happy #wafflewednesday fam!! We have survived half of this week 🙌🏽 pat yourself on the back for that. And I'm super hype today bc it is 83F here in Georgia! Yayyy warmth. Alright so this stack of mini waffles is made with @thelionschoice banana monkey bread pancake mix, layered with Greek yogurt, berries and bananas and topped with @thelionschoice Butterfinger lions dust and whip cream😍 random but winning combo. Hope everyone has a great day!! Stay positive and spend a few moments doing something you love today.

2. Fry fish in some 1 cal spray while finely chopping some red onion, chilli, and pineapple.

Mini Banana Oatmeal Cookies (accidentally oil-free, sugar-free and gluten-free)
Fun fact before I share the recipe: I was about to bring them with me to school tomorrow as a snack but I already demolished almost the entire batch. Lol.
1 small banana, mashed
1 tbsp natural peanut butter
3 chopped dates
2 tbsp pumpkin seeds (+ more to decorate)
8 tbsp oats
vanilla & cinnamon
pinch of salt
optional: extra sweetener like coconut sugar/maple syrup/whatever you like
Form into small cookie shapes and bake at 200 °C in a preheated oven for around 10 minutes (keep an eye on them!) Also don't forget to eat some of the dough beforehand, because that's a very essential step when it comes to making cookies.

"You'd better be taking me too." @sa_livefolk fully stocked for whatever the week has in store for them, with Bruce providing moral support.
🙋🏻♀️Good evening guys! 🥦Just tucking into tonight’s dinner and reflecting on my day (which has been amazing!) 🤓As I mentioned this morning, @rhitrition and I delivered a talk at Charing Cross Hospital earlier today about the role of nutrition in eating disorders....
🤭We were incredibly shocked to find out that not one person in the room knew what orthorexia was! Which made us realise- we need more awareness!
💚Now you’ve all probably heard of anorexia and bulimia, but being that orthorexia is not yet recognised in the DSM5 (the diagnostic statistical manual for mental health disorders), it has become quite clear that the general public may be completely unaware that this can also be an eating disorder that can have detrimental effects on ones physical and psychological well-being. 📚A while ago I teamed up with @the_wholehealth_doctor to discuss more on the topic of orthorexia—> please read the blog post on my website to understand more what signs and symptoms to look out for (or hit the link in my bio)
🙅🏻♀️No one should live their life feeling restricted or isolated in regards to food 🥗Food should be enjoyed! And ultimately, food is our fuel! It’s what keeps us happy, energised and motivated!
📝If you are someone who struggles having a healthy relationship with food, please always seek qualified and professional advice! •
What the majority of my meals look like, day in and day out, prep or offseason, lunch and dinner 🥗 veggies, chicken, and some type of mustard or hot sauce 🤤 I legitimately LOVE veggies, especially sautéed in the cast iron skillet YUM 😻 I like to keep volume high but will mix up my veggies and will add in some squash or sweet potatoes if I need some more carbs. I honestly love love nutrition and learning how to fuel my body properly and how everything is connected. 🤓 I tend to follow some food “rules” more like guidelines but I still stick to them! My #1 rule I stick to the majority of the time is to chose an ingredients list of 5 or less! Not including if you make it yourself but basically try to minimize processed foods. I’ve really stuck with this rule and my stomach is thanking me! And my digestion is amazing. Yes I track my macros, but I don’t stuff my face w low cal/ macro friendly foods that have a million ingredients and chemicals because it’s just not healthy to me to do that. You do you, but I like to eat as many whole, nutrient dense foods as I can 🥗💪🏻🙌🏻 .
I just finished day 35/80, Total Body Core, and today’s our first refeed day!🙌🏼 So that means I get to eat extra, high glycemic index carbs in order to replenish my glycogen stores.🍞🥖🥨 The first month of this program I’ve been eating at a calorie deficit, (but don’t worry I am not going hungry) and so having these “refeed days” every other week for the next two months will help my body perform during the harder workouts because of the spike in glycogen.👌🏼 I’m pretty excited to have some ramen and cookies today!!!🍜🍪🤤
