Today we prepared our delicious Shiitake #mushrooms
! 🍄 A #nutritious
idea for mushroom lovers, training people 🏋️♂️, and even if you have decided to fast .
We cooked them with #Ghee
butter and garlic and enjoyed their authentic taste, which is more than enough by itself! 😋
🔝 Their greatest advantage is that just like meat, they contain all of the essential #aminoacids
. This makes them suitable for everyone - including actively training people, #vegetarians
, 🌾 etc.
🔔 If you are on a #diet
or a special regimen, #Shiitake
are again the best choice, as they are very low in calories and fat, while containing the so beneficial Omega-6, especially linoleic acid.
They're so rich in vitamins and minerals and valuable substances that they're a powerful ally of the cardiovascular and immune system, as well as a cancer fighter! A real health elixir!
You can order from @farmhopping

Honey crisp vs. Pink lady taste test. Do you have a favorite?!
When we first went paleo, I tried a couple of different versions of schnitzel as I was still getting used to subbing ingredients and omg 🤢 coconut flour or almond meal does NOT work haha so finding @ottos_cassava_flour
was a game changer!
We usually have schnitzel about once a week as it's a serious fave in this house and I usually do a simple evoo and cassava flour coat. It's not anywhere near as crispy as coating in bread crumbs like the traditional method but it worked well enough and still tasted nice since the chicken was marinated in herbs first.
Anyway, last night I went all out; after marinating the chicken in a bit of evoo and @simplyorganicfoods
vegetable seasoning, I coated it in tapioca flour, then did an egg wash then into some cassava flour mixed with a bit of @herbedseasalt.
It was SO crispy + SO flavoursome, naturally it took quite a while too since I was doing like 1.5kgs (~3lbs) haha but it was so worth it! .
Served with some baked sweet potato chips and onion, guac, @kehoeskitchen
kraut and my favourite salad - kale, cabbage and carrot mixed with some alfalfa and broccoli sprouts (these are so damn nutritious you should definitely add them to every meal you eat!!) and tossed with @niulife
coconut balsamic... Ermahgerd that balsamic makes my mouth water... 😋 but i digress haha! Actually, your local (aussie) health food store probably stocks it, i reckon go grab some to try it's so delish and it's AIP compliant too!!

Cheesy Cauliflower Mushroom Steaks 🤤😍😋 Where are my cauliflower lovers at??? You don't even need to be a cauliflower lover for this one!!! This recipe really great as it is, but I really like to add some meal prepped chicken to boost the protien, or for a total flavor bomb ill sometimes add a little chorizo or bacon...AMAZING!
makes about 4 servings
🌱1 large cauliflower head, sliced to 3/4 inch thick as shown 🌱 cooking spray
🌱1 Tbsp avocado oil, or olive oil 🌱1 Tbsp dry Italian seasoning
🌱200g fresh button mushrooms, sliced
🌱2 fresh garlic cloves, minced
🌱1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
🌱sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste
🌱fresh thyme to garnish
1)Preheat your oven to 200C.
2)Spray baking tray with cooking oil.
3)Place the cauliflower slices onto the tray. They need lots of space between them, and shouldn't overlap so use 2 trays if needed.
4)Brush each side of the cauliflower steaks lightly with the avocado oil, and season with sea salt, pepper, and Italian seasonings.
5)Roast for 20-25 minutes, until nice and golden brown on the sides, flipping once during roasting time.
6)In a mixing bowl add mushrooms, minced garlic, a pinch of sea salt and pepper, then toss to coat well.
7)Spread mushroom mixture on another baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes.
8)Once done, remove the pans from the oven. Sprinkle roasted cauliflower steaks with cheese and top the cheese with roasted mushrooms & garlic mixture.
9)Return to the oven for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Sprinkle with fresh thyme and enjoy!
New recipes! Success! Beef stew and biscuits. I am supper excited about the biscuits as mine never turn out. My sister shared a recipe with me and I figured I'd give it another go. So glad I did yum!! Did great with no gluten today until I made supper. I'm not very strict about getting back into that now that the cold weather has sat in. Both recipes will be used around the homestead here. Yummy and filling!
Whenever I’m stressed or anxious I always go straight to the beach. I just feel so incredibly good after swimming in the ocean! 🌴🌊
That’s because the human body’s magnetic field is made up of both positive and negative ions. Over-exposure to positive ions caused by computers and mobile phones can affect our magnetic field and drain energy, making us feel tired and lethargic. (Hello office workers & students😳)
However, water in motion produces abundant negative ions, bringing more energy and vitality. We inhale an abundance in certain environments such as the ocean, mountains and waterfalls. Once they reach our bloodstream, negative ions are believed to produce biochemical reactions that increase levels of the mood chemical serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our energy!
So, if your feeling tired, stressed or just a bit down, give yourself some time in nature! It works wonders! 🌎

This is my favorite way to eat veggies in the fall and winter months...hearty, warm, nutritious. #soupseason #heartwarming
Just sauté some chopped leeks or onions—or minced garlic or shallots—in olive oil, chop and toss in whatever veggies you’ve got in your fridge, then simmer (covered) for 30 minutes. Voila!
Random Vegetable Soup
- 2 leeks*
- 5 medium carrots*
- 6 stalks of celery*
- 1 zucchini*
- 2 handfuls of chopped green cabbage*
- small bag of tiny red potatoes*
- half a can of leftover cooked beans
Hero's of bean family, which may not get enough credit..white beans.
Filled with more cancer fighting fiber than red beans, decrease chronic inflammation, and fights against brain aneurysms. .
Increasing fiber intake with white beans can help reduce risk if colorectal cancer by 10%, at least 2x a week.
If you have an additional unnatural stressors entering your life, maybe you should also look into these beans in your diet. .
Today I made a curry soup in our crockpot with white beans/blackeyed peas, crimini mushroom, carrot, yam, potato, onion, galangal, turmeric, garam masala, cayenne, cumin...

Chile-roasted delicata squash. So good it is becoming a staple. Recipe right from @farmfreshtoyou.
Perfect dinner or side dish. Make sure to roast the seeds as they make the best snack and they come ‘free with purchase!’
Many kids expect a treat or dessert after dinner, like icecream or jelly or some sort of pudding, or even fruit for something sweet... 🍨🍦🍰
Then you have my kids who are like "muuuuuuum, can we PLEEEASE have some tiger nuts?" 😂😂😂 they finished off the pack, sorry dadda!
Foods high in resistant starch, like tiger nuts are GREAT because they feed bacteria further down in the gut. They also take longer to digest, helping regulate blood sugar levels and can even reduce risk of bowel cancer!! .
The CSIRO have said "Our research shows that eating resistant starch leads to positive changes in the bowel and could protect against the genetic damage that precedes bowel cancer.
Resistant starch promotes gut health by feeding the 'good bacteria' that live in our large bowel. These bacteria are sometimes called our microbiome. They can use resistant starch as food because it resists digestion in our small intestine, and moves on to the large bowel.
When the good bacteria in the large bowel ferment resistant starch, they make short chain fatty acids. One of these, called butyrate, supplies energy to the cells lining the large intestine (colonocytes), promoting their wellbeing." They went on to say "...eating a wider variety of fibre, including resistant starch, will help us to improve gut health and assist in reducing the incidence of bowel cancer."
The genetic damage they speak of is related to EPIGENETICS, which is freakin fascinating and so important to know about if you take your health seriously, and especially if you're planning a family!!
Also, I'd link their website but it promotes the GMO grain they developed to increase resistant starch in Aussie diets, and no f***ing way will i promote that rubbish lol just eat REAL FOOD.
Sweet potatoes is an easy one!! 🍠

If you are looking for something new to bake and love this weekend, try my olive oil pear cake. So moist, delicious, slightly sweet yet soft, this is such a nourishing and healthy treat. Eat Real Food
Mindfully 🧠 🥦
What does that mean?
Well.. in simple term:
Dieting is not a hobby
After working with clients for 16+ years, you start to take notice of some of their commonalities,
and one thats prevalent is the OBSESSION with fat loss long-term dieters seem to experience.
If you speak with any of my clients, they will tell you that I always ask them what their hobbies and/or interests are (outside of exercise)
For the vast majority its ......*crickets*
Dieting and calorie counting is not a hobby☝️
The more neurotic and consumed you become with thoughts of restrictive food rules, calorie counting and body image, the more they control you.
Eating and exercise should not be a stressful endeavour in your life
They are intended to bring pleasure snd fulfilment in significant ways.
Hating yourself thin is not an effective weight loss strategy.
If it were, you’d already be in that dream body by now
Body transformations only occur when we operate from a place of self care not self loathing❤️☝️
Join a class✅
Learn how to play an instrument✅
Do something that allows you to create meaningful experiences and create connections that have nothing to do with scale weight or pants size
Stop “waiting on the weight” for your happiness
Find things to like and enjoy about yourself TODAY,RIGHT NOW
Not 10 pounds from now
Body transformations are the byproduct of living a rich, full life, (including orgasms, not calorie counting)
If you work on being happier e.g feeling good about yourself and having more orgasms, the fat loss will follow.

Lol... as a follow up to my last post, I would just like to clarify that I was simply drawing attention to the fear that many women have around meeting a new guy on a date that they will be dehumanized by being sexualized and/or objectified and/or at risk of experiencing something traumatic, while the fear of this particular individual and several others that I’ve conversed with was that he would show up to a date and be disappointed that he wouldn’t be able to sexualize the other party (it’s also objectification if you DONT want to sexualize that person, because people of all genders are actually humans, not sexual objects) and thus feel like it was a waste of his time, not even realizing that having this attitude in the first place is a huge waste of the OTHER persons time, because no one deserves to be viewed and treated like they are less than human and just an object.
My post was NOT an invitation for anyone to take it upon themselves to view my photo albums to check and see if they personally felt that I was objectification worthy, and private message me to tell me so 😂 ya can’t make this stuff up folks!
STOP 👏🏻 OBJECTIFYING 👏🏻 HUMANS 👏🏻 and when you see this happening, please call people out and hold them accountable for their attitudes, words and actions.
It’s quite simple. You either pay for healthy food now or pay for it later with medication when you’re sick because you didn’t make your health a priority. If you don’t believe me, look at the price of cancer treatment and the effects that poor health habits have on the increasing cancer rates. #healthyliving #buyorganic #foodishealth #takecareofyourself
You know those moments when your making something and your like “...a little of this and some of that”.....and all of a sudden your like....”shit, shit, shit”......yah the moment when you pour too much salt (in my case herbamare seasoning) and even though you scoop some out it’s still too salty. To then be like “I’ll just add in another can of chickpeas....🤔” to open the pantry and notice there isn’t another can. 😩 So you start thinking fast...”What can I do now?” Ahh ha...throw a can of mixed beans in lol In the end it turned out really good!! Could still use a little less salt BUT the kids love it, so in the end it was a win!! 🙌🏼 Oh and if you didn’t guess it, I made hummus lol #toomuchsalt #hummus #homemade #momsofinstagram
After a long gap got time form my busy schedule.
As its Diwali festival going on in India had lots of yummy mouth watering dishes but couldn't post it 😣. But without wasting any tym would like to share these Amazingly yummy Kerala food. 📍 (Just Kerala restaurant)
Yes they had many dishes which i wanted to taste but had been visiting many frnds n family for Diwali wishes so stomach was full with lots of sweets. But ,
I prefer having Thali wherever i go so i selected the Kerala vegetarian Thali it had Dahi(Curd) little bit salt in it/ Thoran means its a mix vegetables cooked in coconut oil with added spices
/Vellarikka Pulinkari means mix spices curry/ Potatoe finely chopped with fried onions/ 😋Pappadam / red chilli dry chutney / Mango Pickle / Plain Brown Rice/ Yes there was desert also but i couldn't click bcz it 👀 so tasty that i couldn't control as it was Caramelized Banana Custard wow...😍 Advice: Kerala food are yummy anytime u should go for vegetarian food in South Indian restaurant rather than having the beef/mutton/chicken/seafood and yes i agree it taste well but if u go n try the vegetarian dishes u will definitely be a fan for it... honestly speaking i didn't taste beef/mutton/pork anytime being a Christian by my religion but dats nt the point here the point is you need to have a healthy lifestyle avoiding red meat.✌😊 Avoid:The Brown rice as its heavy n fatty try the Normal steam rice which will be easy to digest n do try all the stew cooked food at Kerala restaurant everywhere as it has alot of taste n variety of spices in it which is a good sign of healthy choices.

Eat in Color 🌈
I am in a bit of a rut with making good choices during meal time. We have had a sick kiddo, time change and morning darkness has been tough, cold weather and no sun, it’s just tough not to choose food that has an emotional connection (eating out, chips and salsa, hello Starbucks, and of course there’s still Halloween candy that everyone has forgotten about, except me). These sautées have been saving my life! Broccoli, carrots, cabbage, and brussel sprouts all pre-sliced, with a few chopped up strips of bacon, sautéed in coconut oil. They are warm and filling, SO good, SO easy, and just beautiful. It fills my body’s needs and also fills my emotions in a better way, by making me feel energized and proud. Even comfort food can be good for you. 💝
