Its been so hot lately but I’m still craving a warm and comforting oatmeal. This one is a this apple, garden raspberries and pomegranate seeds. Beside the raspberries the fruits are not seasonal or local. I’m someone who wants to eat seasonal and to enjoy these kind of food at winter time but my mother thinks otherwise and wants to satisfy her cravings. Do you ever have a craving so intense that you’ll drop everything you’re doing to make it happen?🙋‍♀️ • • • I randomly though of spicy chicken ranch pizza at 5:20 pm (right before Issac gets home) and dropped all other plans to go to the store and make my dream come true • • • Whole wheat dough topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella round, leftover shredded chicken, red onion, pickled jalapeños with a drizzle of ranch. Oh, and adjust I coated the crust with olive oil and a bunch of dried oregano and rosemary. • • • I am so happy I went out and bought the ingredients I needed and made the pizza I envisioned. I could have saved time by going next door to a pizza joint, but this left me feeling full and satisfied after just two slices. • • • When I truly honor my cravings and listen to my body, I enjoy food so much more than settling on something “healthier” or “easier”. • • • What are you craving right now?

I almost forgot how satisfying seafood kare kare (seafood in peanut sauce and served with shrimp paste) is until I had Chef Claude’s version at Bale Dutung for the second time months ago. I made some today with steamed shrimps and katang (small crabs that are almost soft-shelled, boiled tahong (mussels), pan-grilled squid and eggplant, and long beans. If you make your stock ahead of time, which in this case is vegetable stock, and a bit multitask, you can prepare everything under 45 minutes. Feeling so well and good lately 🙆🏼‍♀️. Isn’t it funny how when you do more, like workout for example, you find yourself with more energy ⚡️? You’d think you’d gain more energy by conserving more energy..but that’s just not the case! Physical activity increases the blood flow to your body. This increase in blood and oxygen provides more energy to your body to do even MORE work. I am an incredibly productive person so keeping my energy up is of the utmost importance to me 💯. Here are my top hacks for keeping your energy levels up (beyond exercise): 1. Avoid added sugars - the headaches and sluggishness that comes on right after the “high” are not worth it most of the time. 2. Go get some sleep! I’m talking 7 hours here people. Skimping on sleep is always a recipe for disaster. 3. If you’re an extrovert like me, be social! Talking to a friend for a bit or even that random person behind you in line at the grocery store can seriously lift your mood and overall energy. 4. Give adaptogenic herbs a try! I make sure to include stress reducing and energy boosting herbs in my elixirs everyday. Some great ones to try for this are ashwagandha, rhodiola, and holy basil. 5. Shake up your routine! When you switch things up, your brain responds by releasing a rush of neurotransmitters, such as dopamine, which make you more alert. This is why I switch up my morning elixirs, walk different ways to work, do different workout classes. Take something ordinary and just switch it up! . . . 👉🏼 on my plate: 1️⃣ base of @organicgirl 50/50 blend - spring mix and spinach 2️⃣ add sweet potato fries, radish, avocado, tomato, microgreens, blueberries, and lemon slices 3️⃣ top it off with some perfectly cooked salmon - recipe for salmon can be found a little bit down my feed

So inspired by @passionateaboutbaking that tried recreating the mango quinoa smoothie! My first ever smoothie! Had been dreaming of making them since long, but somehow never got down to making them. Soaked the quinoa for an hour then boiled them till soft n tender but firm, retaining their pearlike shape. Left them overnight in the fridge. Blended the quinoa, mango pieces, a little coconut milk and some organic manuka honey till light and fluffy. Poured the creamy smoothie into a bowl and decorated it with some blackberries, mango pieces and mint leaves It was truly divine, healthy and so easy! One dollaaaa vegan cinnamon rolls coming at ya. I’m not one to follow any dietary restrictions or special diets but let me just tell you that this is a vegan food trend I can get behind. They are DELICIOUS. I have been getting a lot of questions recently about what I “don’t” eat. For me, no foods are off limits. Every food I eat serves a purpose. Food is fuel. Whether it is a preworkout fuel, post workout fuel or a fuel for social enjoyment, all foods serve a purpose. Remember food is not only fueling our physical health but also emotional or mental. Some times my emotional health needs some chocolate or a big vegan cinnamon roll. I definitely watch my diet and balance what I eat but I don’t count calories. I instead focus on protein intake and make sure that I get in all my fruits and veggies. Everything seems to fall into place after that ☺️ #realfoodbyreilly #rd2be

One of my favourite meal back in Malaysia was pork noodle. This pork noodle is a little special because I added prawns in order to add an extra dimension of taste to the noodle. In Chinese we called it "鲜". I tried to replicate the one that I like the most. Of course it's not as good as the original one but just enough to satisfy my cravings. Personally, I love drink the milk tea without any sugar and milk - the milk tea at Sun Wah Cafe, shown in the picture, has been one of the best in town. If you are the kind of person who has to sip a coffee in the morning no matter what - the milk tea always serves the same purpose, or you may order a milk tea and coffee mix - its name "Yuenyeung", literally means Mandarin duck - always a pair. Egg tart, an English custard tart, a baked goodie one also doesn't wanna miss when visiting Hong Kong. There are many variations but I would highly recommend you to try traditional shortcrust one. Google it you would find more. The quality of the drink and the dessert-like pastry can be so different among local cafes, a.k.a cha chaan teng. One thing to remember: often the case, in Hong Kong's local restaurants, the better the food they serve, the worse the service they provide.
