Hokkien Mee (福建麵 a.k.a. Char Mee) & Dim Sum (飲茶 a.k.a. Yum Cha)
I’m very curious to try all kinds of food during my trip. Malaysia is a nice place to find the dishes from different cultures. “Char Mee” means fried noodles in Hokkien. Hokkien Mee has the dark and flavorful sauce. The textures of the noodles are similar to udon to me. I also like to have it with some Teow Chew Chili Oil 😋.
“Yum Cha” means drinking tea in Cantonese. People usually have it in the morning. Dim Sum are the dishes coming with the tea. People can order all kind of food from savory to sweet. It’s a little bit like tapas.
Been cooking up this one for a while, want to share it with y'all, I'd say it's 90% done with an indefinite forever I can paint this painting feeling. This is my first large-ish painting I have done since adulthood (approximately 25x20) and it ignited a whole series about food. which is basically Christmas am I right?!?!!! Cauliflower and ricotta mezzeluna in a light peppered cream sauce topped with broiled lemon mushrooms, rosemary butternut squash, and crispy kale. A little breadcrumb for crunch and a squeeze of lemon....heaven 👏🏽❤️🍋

After a long day of cooking, I am ending my night eating these yummy guys called #tostones
(fried green plantains) The green plantains are peeled, sliced then fried twice. The raw slices of plantains are fried for about two minutes on each side until they are golden in color, and removed and patted to remove excess cooking oil. Then they are pounded flat, however you can smash them. The flattened plantain slices are fried again until they are crisp and golden brown. I like to add garlic salt and a side of homemade #mayoketchup

with apple cider vinegar, mayo, minced garlic and ketchup. 🤤
Tofu mexido, uma alternativa pros ovos mexidos, comida rapidex, cheia de proteína, saudavel e que fica amarelinho colocando cúrcuma e temperinhosss!.
Primeiro é só despedaçar o tofu, com as mãos mesmo.
Depois refogar em uma frigideira.
Refogo cm azeite/ ou ghee, alho, cúrcuma, sal e pimenta preta mexendo bem o tempo todo.
Pra finalizar jogo salsinha (ou coentro/ orégano...) e umas sementes (da foto foi de abóbora e girassol, pode ser chia, nuts...).
Prontinho! Fica uma delicia no café da manhã cm uma torradinha, ou pra comer com salada, legumes, em fim, além de tudo é mega rápido de fazer, em menos de 10min tá pronto pra matar sua fome sem usar animal/ derivados nenhum no seu prato!.
E vocês preferem tofu de que jeito?
