"Welcome To My Life" by Simple Plan.
This was another song that we grew up listening to. It came out in 2004, when I was in 7th grade. This was one of the last few songs of their set. I think it was after this song (my phone didn't save half of the videos I recorded) that they said that they "wanted to see a record number of crowd surfers". Let me preface this with this: IF YOU ARE TALL, BIG, HEAVY, OR OVERWEIGHT, DO NOT CROWD SURF! It was crazy to see so many people crowd surf who shouldn't have! People weren't warning others, instead they just tossed these people on top of their heads. I couldn't even count the number of people I saw leave the pit who were hurt, injured, or crying. I felt awful.
I had a traumatic experience with crowd surfers (a heavy guy with steel toed shoes crowd surfed over me, kicked me in the head & knocked me unconscious), I was constantly looking behind me so I could warn Sarah when someone was coming. Of course some people would fall on top of me, but I was fine.
What really threw me over the edge was that the only time I didn't see/notice a crowd surfer heading our way, someone just decided to toss this overweight guy on top of Sarah's head. No warning, no nothing. He just decided, "Hey, I'm not going to warn this short girl that I'm going to toss someone ON TOP OF HER". This guy completely fell on Sarah's head. She fell at such an awkward angle that she could have BROKEN HALF OF THE BONES IN HER BODY, INCLUDING HER NECK & SPINE! I pushed everyone away, helped her get off the ground, & out of a puddle that was an inch deep.
The guy who fell on Sarah was laughing & "apologized", but I freaked out on him. I told him he wasn't the type of person to even be crowd surfing in the first place. Luckily, Sarah wasn't too injured, but long story short, we left Warped early & I wanted to take her to the ER to get her ankle/foot x-rayed.
Because Simple Plan said this, so many people were injured. You don't do that with so many drunk/high people in your audience. Someone could have been gravely injured, but you guys didn't care at all.
