Glengarry View. Sometimes worth a stop on the the way to skye. Just missed the light but some nice clouds floating above 🏴
After taking a “short-cut” up through the mountains while heading south from Egilsstadir, I descended down into this fjord on the east coast. The coast was a welcome sight after driving through hours of snow, sleet and fog on a narrow gravel road. This scene is also a perfect example of why it’s so tempting to pull over every kilometer while driving around Iceland; stunning sights all over the country. #iceland #roadtripping #travelphotography #landscapes
Visiting new locations is always exciting and can be challenging at times, and without local knowledge of where the best spots are I tend to rush around like a headless chicken 😬. And when the weather is against you it can get a bit frustrating. I literally stumbled on this view point and with the tide rapidly coming in I set up for this long exposure.
Here’s the full bow over the bridge. Must have lasted a good 15 mins. Enough time to get set up with different angles 🏴
Greeted by a cracking rainbow heading over the skye bridge on Saturday morning 🌈🏴
