There was something really #uncanny
about how Alexis could constantly make Mitch laugh all the time. I mean constantly. She might as well have been physically #tickling
- People in restaurants, who might have been annoyed by his #guffaws
, to the contrary looked on with great #delight
- of course it also helped that they were both #cuteasabutton
- They were married for 38 years when suddenly one day Alexis said something to him and he #laughedsohard
that he had a #heartattack
and died. He literally #diedoflaughter
but what a #waytogo
- Fortunately Alexis did not feel responsible or guilty for that was their way. •
True stories from internet: In 1975, Alex Mitchell died of heart failure after 25 consecutive minutes of laughter after watching an episode of "The Goodies". His wife wrote a letter to the creators of the show, thanking them for making his last moments so enjoyable (an autopsy of Mitchell's granddaughter revealed that she had a heart condition that he might have also had, thus contributing to his passing away)
In 1989, Ole Bentzen died watching "A Fish Called Wanda", also of cardiac arrest. It is said that his heart was beating at between 250 to 500 beats per minute before he died.
The most recent case, in 2003, was that of Damnoen Saen-um, a Thai ice cream salesman. He had an uncontrollable fit of laughter in his sleep, from which his wife could not wake him. It is unclear whether he died of heart failure or asphyxiation.
Well, now you know the hidden dangers of laughing. You have been warned. Giggle at your own risk.
