Giant Fraser River Chinook Salmon...broodstock collection back in the day. #fraserriver #salmon
A bit of peace was found tonight 🌙
That moment when you feel something wet hit you while you’re trying to centre the perfect shot and think to yourself: ‘Great, that was definitely bird poop...’ Nope, thankfully it was just a sprinkler cooling down the train tracks of the bridge you were passing under.
We made it. Friday is the answer. The question is WHAT’S POPPIN?
Noir of the moment: This Gun For Hire!
Before John Wick and his beagle busted caps into our hearts, there was Philip Raven played by Alan Ladd. The sullen loner with a dark past, wounded heart and a single pet he cares about more than people. And he’ll drop anyone if the price is right. .
GATES: “Raven, how do you feel when you’re doing…” [indicates murder headline] this?”
Raven barely breaks a grin.
RAVEN: “I feel fine.”
With the Pearl Harbor attack at the end of 41’, by 42’, Hollywood had a full-on patriot boner for the war effort, even in crime pictures. ‘This Gun for Hire’ follows Raven as he blasts his way through a double-crossing crime kingpin, and delivers sweet justice for Uncle Sam as he exposes a corporate traitor on American soil, selling chemical poison formulas to the Japanese. A killer ride with dynamite reads and morbid humor - and Veronica Lake once again sucking up all the available light - it’s a great Wick in War-time tale that hasn’t blunted its edge in over seventy years.
JOIN US FOR AN ART COLLABORATION!
SATURDAY, July 21 Faces of the Fraser is back with @tracie_stewart_artist
! For this session of Faces of the Fraser, guests are invited to participate in a collaborative artwork based on a technique and concept (similar to the one posted) from Tracie’s newest works. Tracie’s work focuses on the environment and the land we live on, and this collaborative piece allows visitors to play a part in the creation of art! Using a layering technique, visitors will help create an artwork building from BC Hydro maps, adding writing, imagery, illustration, and painting, with the #FraserRiver
as a focus.
The talk & art collaboration is FREE with admission to the centre - REGISTER through our link in bio. 🐟
Join other homeowners in calling The Peninsula home. As the crown jewel of Port Royal, a 52-acre master-plan community decades in the making, the 22-storey tower is bordered by water on three sides. The architecture is a vehicle for modern design, with a striking façade of glass subtly curving towards the water and a modern brick exterior facing the community.
