I'm surrounded by free people,
wild warriors of the Earth who come together to celebrate love and peace.
We don't need much - each other's company is enough.
I have never seen humans more peaceful, more wide awake, more aligned with their true purpose, more connected with their heart and with mother Earth.
People make fun of "hippies" these days - in a world where crime is on the agenda, where people live so out of alignment with themselves, where we promote fear and separation, where nobody feels safe because we have lost touch with one another... Stop rolling your eyes on those who stand up for peace and love. We need more "hippies" in the world to function properly as a society - no, actually, to let go of the idea of a "society" and reconnect as a community.
A "hippie" is a stigmatized word. I'm only using it so everyone can relate. These people here are not to be labelled. They are simply free people. They are people who have woken up. They are not trying to be cool or to proove anything to anyone. They are not trying to compete with one another because they know everybody is enough as they are. They sing of compassion, they talk of healing the world, they write about living consciously, they create art that speaks to the soul. and so they contribute to making this world a better place, each in their own little ways.
They dare to be, themselves, in their full glory. vulnerable. messy. raw. kind. open. not interested in judgement, gossip or drama. but dedicated to making a positive change.
The magic I experienced at the open mic night yesterday was beautiful beyond words. People singing and dancing so freely, guided by their feelings, letting their bodies speak. I, as an introverted person, have felt so safe to express myself without feeling judged, without feeling the need to be anything beyond myself. People cried, screamed, and held each other, opened space for one another. Ecstatic motion, healing sounds, a collective energy so powerful I can't put it into words.
Thank you, Byron.
Your people are my medicine.
