In honour of International Dessert Day, I've decided to share my PROTEIN FRENCH TOAST BAKE 💜
I bet you didn’t think French toast could be healthy? French toast has to be one of my all time favourite breakfasts even from when I was a little kid but the conventional type is obviously not the healthiest option. Here’s an alternative healthier recipe:
PROTEIN FRENCH TOAST BAKE: (6 servings)
13 slices of bread (I used @woolworths_sa
High Fibre Wholewheat Brown Bread)
1 scoop @usnsa
Diet Whey Isolean in Vanilla Ice Cream flavour
6 egg whites
1½ cups @bluediamondalmondssa
unsweetened almond milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp cinnamon
Olive oil spray and cook
Spray baking dish with olive oil spray and cook.
Tear bread into small pieces and place in baking dish.
Seperately whisk the egg whites, isolean, almond milk, vanilla extract and cinnamon together.
Pour mixture over the bread and cover the dish with cling wrap.
Place dish in the fridge to soak overnight.
In the morning, preheat the oven to 180 degrees and then bake for 25 minutes.
