Warning: vitamin A - toxic, beta-carotene - healthy
Vitamin A is an extremely important nutrient with the most known positive effect on the eyesight health. The danger lies in that if you look for the vitamin A source, the most common answer is: fish oils and animal organs. And yes, these are rich vitamin A sources indeed. ❌ But, WARNING! Bare in mind that studies show that too much of vitamin A can be toxic to the body. ❌ Plus, if the vitamin A source is full of cholesterol, animal proteins and saturated fats, deleterious health effects are even greater. 🧡 On the other hand, beta-carotene from plant based whole food is a safe and healthy source of the provitamin A, which our bodies convert into needed vitamin A, taking just as much as needed and getting rid of the extra. 🧡 Beta-carotene is a plant pigment orange in color. See how orange is persimmon! 🧡 Just an example: in the persimmon season, I have the same lunch daily and I wouldn't want anything else: a mono meal of ripe persimmons.
