My mind all day, “Being comfortable is the scariest place to be.”
For me this resounds in so many aspects of my life currently. Work, relationships, running - and most recently I felt this when I started experiencing some pain in my IT band after being shoved off a sidewalk during a super casual run on my lunch break at work (PS PLEASE KNOW SIDEWALK ETIQUETTE AND DON’T WALK LIKE YOU’RE ON SEX AND THE CITY 🤦🏻♀️).
I was quiet about it but this happened Thursday, Friday the pain told me to take a rest day, Saturday I woke up and a miracle! No pain! I go to mentor with @teamforkids
and got to 11.5 miles feeling SO strong 💪🏼 and we stopped quickly for water. As soon as I started back.. THE PAIN 😭. I walked 1.5 miles to get back to my team.
I got too comfortable. I thought I was untouchable for injury! .
So worried, I talked to my coach who helped me figure out a plan to rest and train to incorporate strength and biking. Here’s to keeping positive thoughts 💆🏻♀️. Chicago and NY I’m still coming for ya!
I’m still training and I’m still fundraising for the kiddos to have FREE running programs! Join me and help give others a chance to chase their dreams!

I'm so happy that this quote found me today. It's a wonderful reminder of what's possible if we just believe.
I was experiencing a bit of writer's block regarding this week's blog and then I was inspired by a live Instagram Story where a woman expressed her desire for community.
Inspired by her vulnerability and honesty, I began to ponder the community that we find via Giving Back. Right then the blog began to flow and write itself.
New Blog Tomorrow 8/21/18. I hope that you enjoy it. If you're subscribed it will come directly to your email address. If not, there's still time. 😁 The link is in my bio.
Was a successful outing, emptied 3 kegs and donated all of the profits to the Canby Elks campground to help them with upkeep so we can keep coming back to a cool little spot and raise more money for others in the future. My kid brother even brought the tbird out for the event..... #fundraising #dogoodforothers #payitforward

You need time to do what you love. We make that time.
The middle is gone - middle-man, agency, the Man, them- they’re just plain gone.
Unless YOU ask them back in, rely on someone else to buffer, interpret and filter your attention.
And every time you rely on someone else to do your hard work of telling your story, you’re asking the Man back in between you and your world, you and your customer, or you and your donor.
The middle is gone (along with excuses)... unless you can’t handle life, business, or mission without a middle-man holding your hand.
Hi instagram! ❤️ My name is Kay. I will start by telling you the things I enjoy. Firstly, I have a lot of love. I have so much compassion for our planet, wildlife..I adore animals. ❤️ I also enjoy drawing, painting and creating things. I’ve always been a creative person who enjoys creating all sorts of things. ❤️ I have a very curious and inquisitive mind and am always trying to learn more about the many things that fascinate me, I am easily fascinated and amused.
I also happen to have a number of life altering, life threatening genetic conditions.
•Craniocervical instability (CCI) Atlantoaxial instability, (AAI) and Chiari Malformation. I chose to start up a page here on IG to try to share my journey, raise awareness for chronic illnesses, and support the community in general. ❤️ •My situation... CCI is where the first vertebrae of the spine that connects the skull to the spine is partially dislocating, shifting and unstable., This causes nerves and arteries to be kinked, cutting off vital blood supply to the brain. The vertebrae is in the wrong position and is pushing against the spinal cord and cutting off CSF fluid. CCI/AAI Are life threatening conditions that causes the neck to be extremely fragile, which means one wrong move can be potentially fatal, the vertebrae can dislocate and can essentially result in internal decapatation. With a pretty hefty amount of symptoms (link to more information will be listed below) without intervention these conditions can lead to paralysis, and eventually death. Chiari Malformation is where the brain stem, the base of the brain, is slipped out of the bottom of the skull, down on top of the spinal cord, pushing against it and blocking off CSF fluid. Basically, it’s all really really squished in my brain. These conditions are a result of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. If you slide to the next pic 👉 there is information about EDS there. •What happens next?... I need surgery, as soon as possible. It is not available on the NHS so i am trying to raise the money on gofundme, which I will talk about in more detail in another post. The link is in my bio If you feel like having a look ❤️
Sadly on Thursday I lost my step-sister Deana unexpectedly & at the age of 38 💔 I have opened a just giving fund raising page to help the family with trying to raise some money towards giving Dee the send off she deserves. I know its a far cry but if anybody would be willing to help by donating no matter how small to help our family it would mean the world and be much appreciated by us all. I will be adding the link to the page in my bio if anyone is interested in helping us raise some of the money we need. Thankyou x #justgiving #justgivingpage #fundraising #stepsister #gonetoosoon #rip #family #support #love #donations #donationsappreciated #thankyou

🔥 Church planting has been one of the most exciting, challenging and mind blowing experiences. First, I thought it would never happen. Second, I didn’t think everything would actually turn out the way it did. Does that mean I didn’t believe God could? No. Just had some days of “I’m not sure this can happen..” At this point in my life I can say I’ve see the miraculous happen many times through this journey and we are praying for another miracle. @nhccchurch
is onto the next season and we could not be more excited!Could God really raise $120,000? Absolutely! In the next two months? I believe.. but help my unbelief Lord. Just being real!
We are raising funds to get a portion of this building you see in these pictures. If you want to learn how you can help be a part of our story and help us move in.. click the link in my bio. Full video on the page! We are so thankful for all the support we have had and continue to have. God has big plans and we are stepping out in faith to see it through. Thank you all! 👊🏽🤙🏽🙌🏽

https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1740571093&ed=true "KidsCan exists to meet the physical and nutritional needs of Kiwi kids less fortunate than others. It’s our mission to provide food, clothing and basic healthcare in schools to enable disadvantaged children to be more engaged in their education and reach their full potential.
Hungry, wet, cold and stressed is no way to start the school day (if it doesn’t stop them from getting to school) but for over 290,000 Kiwi children living in hardship that is the reality. This can impact their educational growth and lead to a lifelong pattern of underachievement. There is a way to break this cycle; by providing simple things like food, shoes, socks and raincoats, kids can arrive at school ready and able to learn. Our aim is to prevent children in hardship from becoming adults in hardship by giving them the start in life they deserve.
KidsCan starts its work with children at primary school level and supports them for as long as they need it, right through high school in some cases. We focus on three core areas: food, clothing and health. Together with individuals, community, business and government we can alleviate child hardship and create long-term change. Our practical programmes ensure a greater number of disadvantaged New Zealand children are able to achieve good educational outcomes and reach their full potential."
This year I’ve decided to up my game and to make a serious effort to improve the preservation of Australia’s
Greening Australia is a front running environmental conservation, preservation and rehabilitation organisation.
It works with schools to educate and empowers people to be positive forces for change in this world.
As a contestant for Miss Earth Australia 2018 I am raising money to help support the work of Greening Australia and need your help!
So, if you want to help keep Australia’s natural world beautiful and healthy (and show me some love in the
process) check out my GoFundMe page at the following link https://www.gofundme.com/69t47-greening-australia IN MY BIO

It's always amazing when we get new volunteers! Dr Ramin Shayan recently completed his first volunteering stint for Interplast, representing us at the Sri Lanka College of Surgeon's annual conference, speaking on plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Pictured at the Army Hospital in Sri Lanka (L-R): Dr Ramin Shayan (Interplast), Dr Dulip Perera (head of the National Hospital Plastic Surgery service), Dr Kavinda Rajapakse and Dr Thushan Beneragama.
So I guess I should post more often considering my initial plan was to document my transition. However, I have noticed a pattern, when I’m down or depressed I don’t really post anything or at least not nearly as much as I should. Honestly even my bad days are a part of my transition and my life.
I finally have a lot more to be thankful for and that helps tremendously but...and there is always a but. 🍑
...seriously though, I just haven’t been feeling very pretty lately. I just see the flaws in my face and I know that sounds vain but is it such a sin to just want to be seen as nothing less than a woman. I just wish I could afford a tracheal shave and fix my brow ridge. I mean don’t get me wrong there are definitely some more surgeries I would like to have as far as #facialfeminizationsurgery
goes, but I would be very confident and content if I could just change those two “flaws.” If you read all this then perhaps I should apologize too, we all need to vent sometimes I guess and this helps. I’m sorry for this post but it’s ultimately my page and I’ll cry if I want to.
I love you future Alana and you as well my amazing #bras
having you all like my stuff and comment, it really does help. 😘💕
