Do these stretches! @bodysculptorben . 🧓🏼 Lower back pain is incredibly common and it can be a right pain in the arse (well back actually). Sometimes it can really inhibit your training, which nobody wants! Help protect that back and keep it mobile by doing these exercises below. . 1️⃣ Forward bend 🧘🏼‍♂️ - Can be performed standing however a sitting position is easier to execute. Fold torso over your legs, moving from the hips. Avoid rounding the upper back. . 2️⃣ Cat stretch 🐱 - Engage your abdominals and round your back towards the ceiling. Allow the head and neck to fall naturally between the arms. Breathe deeply and hold for 10-30 secs. . 3️⃣ Child pose 👧🏼 - Spread knees wide apart whilst keeping big toes touching, rest your bootay on your heels, keep arms long and extended with palms facing downwards. Relax and hold. . 4️⃣ Pigeon stretch 🐦 - Tough one to get into this one. Place right knee out in front between the hands and let the right foot slide over to the left. Then slide the left leg back, lowering the hips to the floor. Walk the hands forwards to lower the torso. Keep stretching and then hold at the most stretched position. repeat on the other side. . 5️⃣ Downwards dog 🐶 - Try to create a human pyramid shape using your hands and feet as the support and then lifting your hips up high. Reach the chest towards the thighs, lifting up through the tailbone to keep the spine straight and long. Press heels into the floor, creating a stretch in the back of the legs. Let the neck hang freely. Breathe and hold. . 6️⃣ Upwards dog 🐕 - Place weight on your hands and feet driving the hips down into the ground, knees should be kept off the mat. Draw shoulder blades back and towards each other. The best rep range for muscle growth 💪 - It is a popular bro-myth that different rep ranges have different magical effects on your body. One rep range for tone, another for bulk, another for strength and another for endurance 🤦‍♂️ - Well, it’s a good thing that we have science to save us from this nonsense 😅 - When volume is matched and effort is similar, it has been shown that rep ranges from 3 to 30 can be just as effective when it comes to developing muscle mass 🏆 - What does similar effort mean? It means that you can’t just do 30 reps with lighter weight and stop the set when you’re bored. If you are not tracking calories and macros, you are driving blind in order to achieve your goals. ⠀ ⠀ In order to lose fat, there's no "butts" ha ha get it, that you have to move more than you are consuming. This is the law of thermodynamics, if you are not losing weight, you are more than likely not in a caloric deficit. On the other hand in order to gain weight, you will have to be in a positive energy balance.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These laws basically do not govern the type of foods that you are consuming hence its more about the quantity of the foods you are eating not quality. Contrary to beliefs, healthy eating doesn't get you to lose weight alone. DEADLIFT GUIDE by @myo_kinetics - Follow:@workout_health_9 The deadlift has many variations which target muscles to a different extent making it a very versatile exercise to add to your routine. The deadlift variations mostly vary on how much quads, glutes and hamstrings they will activate based on the weight placement. the hex bar deadlift will be the most balanced between quad and glute, the sumo deadlift will be slightly more quad relative to the standard deadlift. Lastly the rdl based exercises will be mostly hamstring and glute. ⠀ Another place where the deadlift will vary is pressure on the spine and how much the erector muscles work. This will vary based on the hinge angle of the exercise and the weight capacity the exercise allows for. More upright deadlifts like the Sumo and hex bar deadlifts will create less press on the back and may be useful for individuals who have pain in the low back. While conventional and RDL place a great deal of torque on the back and may not be the best, however they can be useful to those who have knee pain. The single leg RDL can work both ways as its usually done with lighter weight and is a great motor control exercise as well. ⠀ When programing these exercises into your routine its important to have an equal distribution of volume for the posterior and anterior. So, during your routine the hamstring and glutes should get trained roughly the same as the quads. One thing to pay attention to is for exercises that target the hamstring which are often undertrained. SICK AND TIRED OF SEEING NO GROWTH IN YOUR QUADS?🤦🏼‍♂️😞⁣ ⁣ Follow @andrewmarsham_fitness for more🔥🔥🔥 ⁣ Pay attention! ⁣ ⁣ Leg extensions are an excellent isolation Exercise that’s should compliment any good routine!💪🏻⁣ ⁣ They really focus on the ‘teardrop’ of the quad and help get that 3D look!⁣ ⁣ Few 🔑 points to take note of are: ⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣ Keep reps moderate, in the 10-15 rep range, going heavier could jeapordise the knee joint ⁣ 2️⃣ Be sure to control the weight and hold for 1 second at the top ⁣ 3️⃣ Do not fully lock out at the top, again could cause problems with the knee joint! ⁣ 4️⃣ You can make the movement harder by leaning forward to shorten the quad, then progressively lean back at the end of the set for an extra two or two (the quad is stronger when slightly more lengthened) ⁣ ⁣ These are the kind of tips and tricks I recommend to clients and it really helps take things up a notch! ⁣ ⁣ What’s your favourite leg exercise!
