VOLUME = SETS x REPS x WEIGHT, so if you increase the number of sets, the number of reps, and/or the amount of weight you use, this can all lead to muscle growth. - Here's my preferred method to progress: - Work in rep ranges. Selfie it up! Progress. Scales suck...ditch them for the most part. I always look back on the progress pix. Especially when I'm feeling lazy and outta my true self. I love being active. 😍 C O L D B R E W is actually the easiest thing to make!! I use this big mason jar and put a 1:4 ratio of coffee to water. Let it sit on the counter overnight, anywhere from 12-24 hrs, filter it through a coffee filter and store in the fridge! When I drink it, I usually do a 1:1 ratio over ice with water or a nut milk if I’m feeling fancy 💁🏻‍♀️

CARBS VS FATS by @apfau - Most people think that carbs are bad. They also think fat makes them fat. Well, your calories need to come from either protein, carbs, or fat. If you’re scared to eat both carbs and fat then you are only left with protein. - Carbs are useful for many reasons. The primary one is energy and performance. They will help fuel your workouts and provide you with energy throughout the day. - Fat also has many benefits. One of the important ones is that it helps regulate hormones. If your fat is too low for too long, your testosterone levels will likely take a hit. - You should likely be incorporating all 3 macronutrients (carbs, protein, fat) in your diet as all three are important. Something to be mindful of is that fat has 9 calories per gram as opposed to carbs which have 4 calories per gram which just means that high fat foods typically are more calorie dense. However, no single macro should be avoided and if you’re trying to gain weight you should be in a surplus and if you’re trying to lose weight you should be in a deficit. A super common struggle I hear from online coaching clients and other random folks on the interwebz is finding the time (and desire) to cook... ⠀ Im not much of a fan of cooking either, which is why I love using this meal template for whippin’ up quick, easy, healthy, and filling fat loss meals! ⠀ By now, you probably know weight loss is all about creating a calorie deficit ⚖️⬇️… ⠀ Your diet could consist entirely of chocolate cupcakes & Mountain Dew and you’d STILL lose weight so long as you’re eating few enough calories. ⠀ But just because you CAN lose fat eating junk doesn't mean you SHOULD... ⠀ See, there are other pieces to this "diet puzzle" — things like food quality, macronutrient ratios, micronutrient density, fiber content, satiety, and enjoyment — that have a role in creating a successful & sustainable fat loss nutrition plan. ⠀ I'm all for having flexibility with food 🍩☯️🍎… ⠀ But I ALSO value simplicity, which is why I like to keep things simple 80-90% of the time and use this meal template. ⠀ The only things I'll change are the specific carbs, protein, & veggies I’m in the mood for/have available. ⠀ Some examples: 💥 —> Lean Steak, Rice, Asparagus 💥 —> Chicken, Potatoes, Mixed Veggies 💥 —> Salmon, Quinoa, Steamed Broccoli 💥 —> Egg Whites, Red Potatoes, Onions & Peppers ⠀ When I use this template, I know without a doubt I'm getting plenty of protein, fiber, and micronutrients — all of which keep my tummy full & satisfied, and my body healthy & happy 😁👍 ⠀ Side Note📝: you’ll notice I don’t include fat sources directly. ⠀ Reason being, most folks end up getting plenty of fat from their protein sources, oils, sauces, etc. ⠀ You can definitely add some high-fat foods (nuts, whole eggs, avocado) to the mix. It’s very common to bend your wrists during pushing exercises. Pushing exercises include bench pressing and shoulder pressing as well as others such as dips shown here. I was unknowingly bending my wrists on my pushing exercises earlier this year and was experiencing a pinching shoulder pain. When I trained with @pheasyque last month, he’s actually the one that pointed it out to me. Since fixing my wrists, my shoulder pain has been gone. - You want to make sure your wrists are aligned. If you’re going to do “shrugs” at least do them right. If you are moving your traps less than one millimeter and/or if you are bouncing with your knees, you are NOT shrugging.
