Since I'm now a few weeks post contest season and into bulking phase I've noticed that I get depressed when I look and see my abs being only moderately visible. Then I look at the general population and I'm still in better shape than at least 80% of them, probably more. It's one of those bodybuilding double edge swords, you have to be critical of yourself to get in the best condition possible for the stage, yet try to relax those standards in the off season. Staying at a very low body fat is not healthy long term. If there is one thing I've learned becoming a physique competitor, it's that there are a lot more mental hurdles than one first assumes. Anyone thinking of doing a bodybuilding show needs to understand there's more to it than just lifting weights, dieting, and jumping into a suit.

Good evening! I’ve been having really bad burning in my arm. Decided to take today off from a workout and go to the doctor. Turns out I have tendinitis in my bicep. I hate injuries, but am very thankful I only have to take it easy today and maybe tomorrow depending on how I feel. So the gains were on hold today :(. Hopefully you followers are injury free and getting your gains on this evening!

The 5am the hours of cardio hours of training hours of heavy lifting focus eating. Anyone can do it anyone can stay on it but not everyone will make it to the end. And even then to become greatness you gotta go beyond what can be done and do it better. Each and every day.

Finish the sentence. What are you telling yourself on a daily basis. Your thoughts alter your outlook which in turn creates your reality. Negative thoughts are toxic and create a butterfly effect. When you have a negative thought acknowledge it and try to understand why you are having it, then redirect. We can train our brains to think in certain ways. It's not easy by any means but it's crucial and worth it. Tell yourself positive things over and over every day. Control your mind, don't let it control you. Everything we desire out of life is possible. We just have to be crazy enough to truly believe that what we want is already ours. Happy Monday everyone!!

Little bench work with chains. 225lb on the bar + 30lb in chains... maybe... I’m guessing. Hit 6x2 of this the. 2x2. Did some close grip pause reps at 185lb after too. All in all a good day.
Dancing with all those moms and women on Saturday was so refreshing. It was as if everyone had checked their worries at the door. All of that positive energy left no room for anyone to feel self-conscious about how she looked. How liberating would it be if every person could feel that way every day? And why can’t it be that way? If walking by the mirror and thinking, “Damn, girl! You’re looking mighty fine,” is wrong then I don’t want to be right.

So I took this picture yesterday, sweat drenching my body. I had a loud ass, nasty ass back and triceps workout and lemme say, it was amazing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It can be really easy to become self-conscious. Don’t be. At some point you have to realize two things. 1. It only matters what you think about yourself, because you’re the one who is affected by your behaviors. 2. People are either looking in admiration or because their lives are that damn boring. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do I still second guess taking a picture of myself as people around me are staring? Oh yeah. But guess what? What they are standing there thinking probably isn’t an accurate reflection of what I am. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
