Happy Father’s Day, dad! My dad has been asking me for months to re-post some of his favorite old photos/video of mine. I keep telling him that I’m not much of a reposter, but it’s Dad‘s day... So here are some oldies, but goodies! And of course some mandatory daddy daughter photos! Thanks for always supporting all of my dreams and for being my biggest life and Instagram fan, dad! 💕

He really is the best dad / happy Father’s Day to my adventure inspiration // #galapagos #travel
This was my favorite experience on the whole trip. This was during the tunnels tour (los túneles) named after the cool rock formations you see in the pictures. Before this we did some snorkeling, but the highlight was visiting a blue footed booby nesting area, and watching this male try to court the female. At first she looked interested but I don’t think he succeeded due to the lack of blue pigment in his feet. This happens due to their diet (of mostly sardines) and the more blue the feet, usually the more healthy the bird. This poor fellow’s pale blue feet may have failed him despite his sly dance moves and cool whistle.

🌎 DARWIN'S ARCH....ICONIC SYMBOL OF OUR PLANET AND NATURE 🌎 .
Darwin's Arch is on Darwin Island, Galapagos. It was named after Charles Robert Darwin. Who's scientific work in the Galapagos revolutionized the way we understand evolution.
Darwin's 5-year voyage in 1831 to the Galapagos Islands had a resounding impact on the formation of his Thoery of Natural Selection. During his visit to the Islands, Darwin noted that the unique creatures were similar from Island to island, but perfectly adapted to their individual environments.
Darwin published his theory of evolution with compelling evidence in his 1859 book "On the Origin of Species." .
Darwin's Arch is the location of many scuba divers' best dives of their lives! The remote location in the Galapagos, is a highly sought out location to witness the wild underwater world. It's like the "African Safari" of our Oceans. If you have seen my video on Instagram of the hundreds of Hammehead Sharks in beautiful clear water on a sunny day, this is shot at Darwin's Arch!
Because of the remote location, many will not have the opportunity to see the arch. ♥️Please enjoy my video of this iconic landmark...Darwin's Arch.♥️

(Geospiza fortis) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is endemic to the Galapagos Islands. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland. One of Darwin's finches, the species was the first which scientists have observed evolving in real-time.
In 1977, a severe drought reduced the supply of seeds in the Galapagos. The finch, which normally preferred small and soft seeds, was forced to turn to harder larger seeds. Subsequently, there has been a 10% change in the size of beak for these finches in a couple of generations.
The population of medium ground finches has been experiencing inbreeding depression due to small population numbers. Inbreeding depression occurs when there is a decrease in fitness due to individuals mating with genetic relatives. Typically, this leads to a loss of genetic diversity and a reduction in heterozygosity. why else do you see in this picture ? #galapagos #puertoayora #puertoayoragalápagos #playalosalemanes
