This week is all about the flowers as the nation goes mad for #chelseaflowershow
If you don’t have a ticket or can’t face the crowds, why not head in our direction and combine a visit to Tenterden with one of our amazing local gardens🌸.
Over the next few days we’re going to be bringing you top tips from our local head gardeners, florists and horticulturalists on how to make your home and garden look a little more #chelsea
First stop, our amazing high street .... the flower beds look extra special with a little help from Great Dixter green fingers , the roses are in full bud and our florists have loads of tips to make your home bloom!
Here come the tips:
1. Did you know #hydrangea
flowers drink through their petals! To revitalise them in cut flowers, dunk them flower first in a bowl of water @julietlevick
2. Stop watering your house plants from the tap! Having house plants is bang on trend at the moment, but you must water them with rain water if you want them to survive @barry.jones_florist1854
3. Longer lasting cut flowers.. Cut your stems at an angle to aid water uptake, change the water every few days ... and no foliage below the waterline, as it causes bacteria 👍 @gardenroomgs
Tomorrow we’re off to one of our local gardens for inspiration💚
