🍃Good morning! And to my followers old and new, it is great to have you here! Today, I am sharing another favorite with you. The Jade plant. Yes, this plant is one of several plants also named the "Money Plant". Item of interest, Feng shui suggest having one in the far back, left corner of the house from the main entry way. This is the prosperity room. Just as long as it gets enough sun throughout the day, it will be happy there. This is also my work space so sharing it with jade makes me happy...oh, symbiosis! 🤗💜@thelunargardens * * * 🍃Some care tips: A thick, woody succulent, which is fairly resilient and easy to grow indoors—plus, it can live for years often reaching heights of three feet or more. Though jade plants like the warm, dry conditions found in most homes, they are not as drought tolerant as other succulent species and need moist (but never damp) cactus soil. However, leaving them rootbound with less water during the winter may help them bloom. They tend to be top heavy. This is a good time to soil propagate. With water propagation, there is a bigger risk of rot. Just stick the cut stem or fallen leaf into the soil stem down. Seriously, it just grows on its own! Enjoys day temps around 75°F but prefer cooler temps at night near 60°F. Will thrive best when it gets 4 hours of direct light per day so make sure your feng shui room is sunny and enjoy this plant for many years to come! #jadeplant #jade #moneyplant #fengshui #gardenlove #gardenlovers #gardenwalks #gardening #gardenersofinstagram #urbanorganicgardener #urbanfarming #propagation #soilpropagation #plantlady #gardenlady #greenthumb #organicgardening #inthegarden #indoorplants #indoorgarden #indoorplanting #thursdaymotivation #lovethesun #sunplants #houseplantdiary #houseplants #nospray #nofertilizer #succulents

My tiny garden a month ago. It always amazed me how quick everything growing with a just little TLC 🍃😊 We have different Chinese greens (they are like weeds), celery, beets, dill, cilantro, pea, a lot of flowers, lettuce, radishes and two kind of parsley. I have to sow some seeds of spinach, sorrel and broad beans. I completely forgot about this video 😉 Short memory or ... I'm getting old 😂 LOL Enjoy your day 🤗 ____________________________________________ #garden #desertgardening #gardening #desertgarden #organic #organicgardening #organicgarden #growingownfood #urbangarden #gardenpatch #phoenixgardening #crazyplantnanny #inmygarden #gardenpath #gardenlove #plantsofinstagram #nogmo #veggie #lovemygarden #coolseason #mastergardener #gardener #fallishere

NIGELLA, LOVE-IN-A-MIST Nigella, also known as Love-In-A-Mist, Jack-In-The-Green or Lady-In-The-Bower, is an annual and member of the Ranunculus Family. It is native to southern Europe and the northern regions of Africa. It has been cultivated in British and European gardens since 1548, but it has been known since Biblical times when in Isaiah 28:27, it was called the “Bitter Fitch”. The name Nigella comes from the word, niger, which means black. It refers to the color of the seeds which are used in medicinal and culinary applications. The seeds, when crushed into a paste, were used to banish freckles. The leaves are used in various recipes as an aromatic. The plant was introduced into the United States by colonists in the 1600’s. The colonists cultivated the plant for its exotic looking blossoms that made excellent cut flowers and for its seeds and leaves which they used in their cooking. The original Nigellas were 2 or more feet tall and produced blue flowers. By the end of the 16th century, a white flowering Nigella had been developed along with double flowering forms. Plants today are much shorter, approximately 8 inches, and come in a variety of colors including pink, rose, white, blue and purple. The seed pods which resemble tiny blowfish are easy to preserve and provide dried arrangements with some exotic interest. Nigellas are very easy to grow from seed. They perform best in poor soil and full sun and they are prolific reseeders. Once established, they tend to perpetuate themselves year after year. For best results, plant the seeds in the November no more than 1/2 inch deep. In the spring, thin seedlings to 10-12 inches. The plants will begin to bloom in late July or early August. If deadheaded regularly, they will continue to bloom until frost. For drying, deadhead until the last flowers have bloomed and then let these flowers produce the seed pods for drying. #harvesting history #heirloomseeds #heirloomflowers #pollinators #bees #nigella #loveinamist #flowerlove #flowercolors #picoftheday #bestoftheday #gardenlove #gardenlife #life #colors #nature #flowerart #amazing #instalove #beauty #nice #best ©Copyright 2018 Harvesting History

😉 #garten #garden #tuin #trädgård #have #hage #gartenliebe #gardenlove #tuinliefde #garteninspiration #instaphoto #gardeninspiration #tuininspiratie #picoftheday #mygardentoday #gartenglueck #inmeinemgarten #inmygarden #inmijntuin #werdenundvergehen #novembergarten #mitpflanzenreden

Isn't it amazing how even things that are dying down and drying out can still be beautiful?!?!? That our world has beauty in all stages of life. Even as humans we see this pattern. The beauty of youth the glow so like spring in our plants. Our maturity as we get into adulthood through our aging years. However, even in aging we find beauty. That amazing knowledge our grandparents have to provide, their love so much more patient then it was in youth. Gardening teaches us to enjoy every stage of life as each one is but a moment in time!

I have to apologize for neglecting to fill this feed with amazing flower photos and project pics, but when things get busy, I have a tendancy to neglect Instagram. 😬 Just wrapped an incredible install for a wonderful couple with the diligent help of @tuck_williams2 Here's a hyperlapse of the burgundy glow ajuga being installed at the end. I always prefer to spread the pine straw before planting anything 1G or smaller; SO much easier to make a little straw hole and plant, than to fuss over getting the straw around (not all over!) all the small items. More photos to come (both of this install and the past few months), but TTFN; it's downtown day! ... #letitgrow #plantinstall #plantsomething #savannahga #savannahgarden #zone8b #landscaping #landscape #gardenlove #gardencreation #lovewhatyoudo #gardendesigner #allthebigplants #allthesmallonestoo #projects

Hard freeze warning tonight! (Nov. 15, 2018.) Brrrrr! It's a chilly day in Atlanta, but it will get colder. Temps will plummet to near 30 degrees overnight. I swear sometimes #winter feels harder then spring as there is just so much to do. On top of that all the color seems to have left the garden But... If you push through it now then it will be so much easier to get that beautiful spring bed up and running and the #colors will feel even brighter after the cold is gone!!
immune tea | we’ve got runny noses in the house again so it’s the perfect time to explore + experiment with some tea blends for holiday gifts + to sell. I keep coming back to this blend of homegrown detoxifying calendula, opening anise hyssop + nourishing nettle. i’m thinking the addition of licorice root might be just the right balance. these days I’m missing the garden more than ever so shifting the longing to crafting + planning for next year. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #myherbalstudies #nestingly #herbalist #herbalism #theartofslowliving #apothecary #mymamahood #ohheymama #kitchenwitch #seekthesimplicity #underthefloralspell #paradiseofminimal #plantsmakemehappy #holistichealth #botanicalpickmeup #myeverydaymagic #herbaltea #lightworker #healing #tea #teatime #habitandhome #bedeeplyrooted #liveauthentic #herbalremedies #myhomevibe #plantmagic #homegrown #gardenlove #thehappygardeninglife

It's time to harvest this guy for drying!! See the quick hit video on IGTV!! I can tell he is ready because the stem is completly dry and the shell is harder and more of a yellow green!! Isn't he a pretty one!!?
#sedum Autumn Joy is such a beautiful dainty little flower to grow. Needs very little care growing in shade or sun in a pot or in the ground. Just a wondeful plant to have on hand for fall color.
