Nostalgic and LONG post: 14 years ago today, I changed my life – I had Gastric Bypass Surgery! It is by far the best and scariest decision I’ve ever made! I changed my life – I’m 150lbs lighter, off 5 prescriptions (and taking none), healthy and happy! All because @alroker
candidly spoke about his struggle on the @todayshow
many moons ago – Thanks Al!
Today, I do things I never thought possible, I run (or something that resembles running), I lift heavy things, I work out, I climb mountains, I smile, I laugh, I love life! 🥰
To hear people say this is “the easy way out” baffles me, they didn’t endure 12 months of testing and therapy, a 5 hours surgery, 4 days in the hospital, 32 staples, coming home with drains, liquids for 6 weeks, throwing up constantly, and learn how to love their body, flaws and all!
They don’t sit and struggle every day to eat the salad rather than the hamburger. Or put on gym clothes rather than sit on the couch!
However, you choose to get healthy, I am proud of you! We are all fighting a very tough and real battle. 👏
I am only successful because I surround myself with family and friends who have helped me through it all and for you all I am forever grateful! 😘
Today and every day I am thankful for every breath I take and this work in progress!
