Dinner at @mythologydiner.
Super cute vegan joint down in the WQW district. Do you want my honest opinion? My meal was a huge disappointment. I was super excited to try this restaurant because my experience at their sister/neighbour restaurant, Doomie's, was absolutely amazing. Also, people were raving about it, reviews were consistently good, and there was even an hour wait after I managed to grab seats (woo I only had to wait for 10 minutes!). Sounds like the spot to be, right? However, as I started to take a bite of each dish, I was becoming more and more disappointed. I assumed that my order of poutine would comprise of fries and mushroom gravy or something along the line of that at least but it was cornmeal mold together in rectangle pieces, which was super mushy and bland. That was probably my fault for not reading the menu thoroughly but hey... I wouldn't have expected for the cornmeal to be that super WET and MUSHY and for the gravy to be just plain awful. I love mushroom gravy! The boneless wings - I already knew what to somewhat expect in terms of flavour and texture. The texture of the seitan was fine but the sauce was lacking... a lot. It was weirdly watery, lacking buffalo flavour, and overly salty. Hmmm 🤔I was losing hope by this point and moved onto the burger which I had with their side of house salad. Although the tempeh patty just fell apart, the burger was probably the best thing I had there MINUS the house salad. I mean I don't know how badly you can mess up a house salad but the dressing literally tasted like oil and salt. If you're going to come here I suggest you order a different side. However I can't guarantee you how good those are going to be. So with that being said, I think I'm going to just stick to Doomies.🤣
