"SORRY I DON'T COOK MALAY FOOD."
- Me (!), 11 May 2018
Famous last words! When my friend @browniepointsbyivy
first invited me to see the Thermomix, I said these words to her, giving it as my excuse not to go. But it was the truth at that particular point in time time. I. NEVER. COOKED. MALAY. FOOD. EVER. I've always found Malay food tedious and intimidating -- so many herbs and spices to chop, to crush, to blend; so many steps to follow!!! True, there are recipes and tutorials all over the internet, plus all those cookbooks gathering dust on my shelves. But I've always found it disheartening to attempt a recipe and not have it turn out like the pic/video. So I never found those recipes to be of much use. I ended up mostly frying fish, tossing processed food into the air fryer, stir-frying veggies praying every time I get the timing right so I don't overcook them.
came into my life on 31st July 2018. Talk about PRECISION!!! Ingredients are listed in grams; settings are given in minutes/seconds, degrees Celsius, and speed. It's almost like replicating a science experiment, with the exact same components, measurements, and method every time, leading to PERFECT RESULTS. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Suddenly I could make rendang, ayam masak lemak, ikan kukus, nasi lemak with sambal, ayam madu berempah, and so much more!
But you know what? I still don't cook Malay food. My German kitchen machine does it all for me. I merely prep the ingredients, follow the instructions, and let the Thermomix cook and stir for me. 😊
Come and experience the wonder for yourself this Sunday, 27 Jan, from 12 noon to 2 pm! PM me for details. I'll be the noisy, extra enthusiastic makcik with the green apron in the studio 👩🏻🍳 #IlovemyThermomix #fromzerotohero #Germanprecision #Germantechnology #Germanquality #homecooking #homemade #fromscratch #guidedcooking #automatedcooking #everyonecancook #askmehow #askmenow
