Lifting weights didn't just change my body, it changed my entire life
I used to spend everyday wishing I could be smaller. Shrinking down my body so people wouldn't notice me. Downplaying my talents, strengths, and desires because I didn't believe I was worth it. Eating as little as possible I if I hadn't "earned" my food that day
✨ But now things are so much different ✨
I move & breathe with confidence. I stand up for what I believe in. I feed my body lots of yummy food without guilt. And I don't care about the number on the scale. I decided I wanted to be STRONG not skinny, both physically and mentally.

This transformation isn't a totally accurate depiction because the first pic is from when I had already been lifting weights for about a year. I was so self conscious before I avoided cameras at all cost, and I honestly don't know where a picture of me from back then would even be. But I was about 15ish lbs lighter than the first pic, and I'm only 5ft tall so that's a pretty big difference.
Remember that you are worth it, even if it doesn't feel like it. Never let yourself forget to treat your body like the incredible gift that it is. After all, we only get one for our whole lifetime.

Someone told me yesterday that I was too small for Figure. That maybe I should do Bikini. My quads aren’t big enough. My waist isn’t small enough. That if I wanted to do Figure & WIN I’d have to take a bunch of steroids & look a certain way. A certain way I’m not particularly interested in looking. I fretted a bit... started to go backwards & then had a solid conversation with my husband & biggest supporter @belgian_beast
. He reminded me of what’s important. •
When I look at women like @sheevz21
I get excited about continuing to grow. I believe their physiques are amazing & truly beautiful. I LOVE to lift! Long & heavy. One hour is never enough. •
So I smile today knowing I am going to keep running with hope in my heart & dreams in my head. I am going to create a physique that I love when I look in the mirror. If that doesn’t take me pro because I didn’t take tons of gear or get as big as the other girls well then at least I will be happy with those stage shots of my accomplishment & the pride I felt on that stage. I’m doing this because I love this. Win or no... it’s the journey that’s important & I genuinely love every minute of it. Even the cardio! #sweatingoutthebs

Does the holiday season have your head spinning?
Gah, me too. The energy is in the air right now.
I’m stressed because I have a ton of packages going to both my apartment and my parents house and it is getting hard to track everything. Too many open loops in my brain!
I’m stressed because I want to spend quality time with my family and I don’t have as many days off around the holidays as I’m used to.
I’m stressed because I want to buy a million gifts for those I love to show them how important they are to me but I also don’t want to go broke 😂
I could go on and on but I think you get it.
More than that, I think you feel it!
It’s not healthy for us mentally or physically.
Our bodies release a hormone called cortisol when we are stressed.
This changes the way our bodies store fat and reduces your ability to burn fat.
So now, not only are you stressed about all that other stuff...
You’re stressed because of the extra weight you gained during the holiday season. 🤦♀️
If you let it, it will keep adding up.
How do we break the cycle?
