Fall days better spent with @naturebox
Delicious, convenient, and nutritious! One of my favorite things about @naturebox
is that their site allows you to search based on nutrients! I personally need a lot of protein (like in their sweet & salty nut mix pictured here), and this option along with front door delivery 🚚 makes it easy for me to stay eating healthy wherever I’m on the move. 🏃🏻♀️
Shoutout to @heather_irving
for making me feel like a model on our hike and keeping me laughing with all her snack puns 🥜 😂 #ad #sponsored #keepitmovin
Today is my first day I feel like I'm somewhat standing on my own two feet.
I caught the flu last Sunday and knew I'd be down for a couple of days but I didn't know I'd be down hard. I couldn't open my eyes long enough to get myself a drink of water. My 7 year old was such a great nurse and helper for my 3 year old. He knew mom was down.
My mother in law came to my rescue for the next 2 days while my husband worked. Then he was my man servant the rest of the time. I was absolutely useless. And that's not me. I rarely am down... ever.
Anyway, on day 5, I finally called it and we went to the ER. I have pneumonia. I guess when I get sick, I make it count. Lol.
We missed our Baja trip and our desert trip this weekend so I can rest but I'm itching to get out of here asap!
Decided to get in on the action 😂
Lets talk about solo travel. It is a buzz word these days. Every one is doing it and come back with roaring stories. It is a good thing and rewarding even, but have you ever asked yourself why you do it or why do you want to do it?
I started traveling solo because I love travel and I was sick and tired of waiting around for my friends to plan something. I am sucker for new experience so I wanted to see how I will be when I put myself out there.
My first solo travel story is no success. I was stuck in a hotel in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by stoned me , pounding at my door until 3 AM. I stayed up all night and cried myself to sleep at 6 in the morning, thinking what if these guys had managed to break open the door?
I woke up at 8 am, just after two hours, hurriedly packed my bags and was ready to leave that godforsaken place when all these guys who were harassing me last night began apologizing to me profusely. One of them begged me to stay.
A smart woman would have flicked at them and never looked back. But I wanted to give them another chance, and I did. They brought me apples, sang me songs, brought me home cooked meals, and basically did everything they could to make up for the previous night.
After 3 years of travelling solo, I can confidently say that that night had all the makings of scarring me for life. But an interesting turn of events changed that and gave me confidence to do it again and again and again.
Have you ever had a solo travel horror story? Tell me in comments 👂 🔹

Finding joy anyway. .
It’s been a heavy couple weeks. There was a mass shooting in my hometown and the shooter went to my high school. Then, wildfires broke out and I watched as friends evacuated their homes. And the mostly deadly wildfire in Paradise. Politics is a mess —ugly and divisive. Our US President encouraging hate, racism, sexism, and all the bigotries. People following his lead. .
So, we vote and write letters to our elected officials. We practice kindness, compassion, and inclusivity. And we get into the woods. .
Anders and I took an unschooling field trip to Helena (Montana’s capital) and hiked up Mount Ascension. Hearts pounding on the way up and big smiles across our faces. Then a veggie lunch, learning about native wildlife at the Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks education center, and soaking in hot springs to end the day. We can home renewed and refreshed. .
How do you cope with a heavy week or two? .

From some small roadside pull off...
It’s official! have fallen in love with the Negev. It wasn’t love at first...actually I would say it was almost the opposite but everything I feared about the desert (the stillness, desolation and emptiness) I now embrace as a harmony of unreal serenity. Never have you heard the sound of silence until you’re smack bang in the middle of the desert, it’s a peaceful and calming experience. With just five days until I dip my toes into the Red Sea I’ll be savouring every moment in this amazing place. Will especially enjoy the last remanding nights free of light pollution, a pure black canvas scattered with billions of stars of such grandeur that it makes you so humble and blessed to be so close to what some would call heaven. #israelnationaltrail

Always doing fun shit with magical people!! 👯💛
My little sister, @chr_is_tine
and I out playing some bingo. She was the big winner.
When I left my full-time job to be a stay at home Mama, I thought our days of family vacations were over. I knew that staying home with our son meant we would have to cut expenses, and of course anything extra would be the first to go.
I’m still staying home with my babe but traveling is no longer out of the question, thanks to coaching.
I’m so thankful for this job that allows me to not only have extra money for travel but also allows me to work from anywhere. No more saving up PTO days!
If you’re a stay at home Mama who has a passion for helping people + would like to make some extra cash 💵 I would LOVE to share my story with you + help you live the life you dream of. 💕
for suggesting this hike. It was great to get outside and enjoy the relatively smoke free air. Even though a majority of the time I felt like dying and the realization of how out of shape I am was disappointing.
I really need to make more time for myself to get outside and do things like this that I enjoy.
Can't wait until the girls are big enough to take on hikes like this.

You think you want a little break from a teething toddler, but then you get one and end up looking at pictures and videos of them while you’re away. 😂 Already missing little Oak... my snuggly funny blondie. Wilder is with us and we’re headed up north to meet with a realtor, some builders, and see some potential spots for our future home. Maybe we can find a place with Lake Superior views?! I can definitely picture a crackling fire and cocoa (or coffee let’s be real) and all the blankets in our cozy little bungalow. And sweaters. And mittens and coats. And base layers. 😂 Patagonia sponsor me and send me all the warm things please. 🙋🏽♀️ #sendwarmth
I miss the wildflowers, the heat of summer, the long days, the feeling that every day is an incredible eternity.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
