Goedemorgen! Gisteren was ik met Henkie op speeldate. Ja, dat doe je tegenwoordig hè, met andere mama's afspreken en dan de kinderen gezellig laten spelen.😏 Vereiste is wel dat ik de betreffende mama ook wel mag. En gelukkig is dat zo. Ik mag haar man zelfs en ook hun drie kinderen. Ho... even terug... DRIE kinderen?!?😱 Jazeker, één van drie, één van anderhalf en één die er net uitgepoept is. We komen daar vaker, dus Henkie en ik zijn wel wat gewend. Maar wát een drama was het gisteren!😬 Babykots all over the place, druipende snotneuzen, speelgoed door de he-le kamer en continu blèrende kinderen. Henkie besloot nog even een lekkere bout te draaien. (Snif snif. Wie stinkt hier? Oh nee hè, de mijne...😖) Hulde voor die mama. Zonder morren werd de spuug opgedweild, de poepluier van mijn zoon weg gegooid en kreeg ik ook nog koffie.😊 De kindjes deelden nog lief een bakje fruit met elkaar en na anderhalf uur was het welletjes. Totally keep forgetting to post my walks 🙈 so whilst I’ve been away instead of using the bus/shuttle to get to places like the train station on Monday or to the shops/Disney parks this week we’ve been walking! Although yesterday morning we totally used the shuttle 😂🙈 one thing I’m not loving about walking here is that because it’s so damn cold my joints are killing me! Single-Arm Bicep Curl Machine (Finisher)⁣ ⁣ I like to do this workout towards the end of my workout. When my muscles are fatigued, I find my dominant arm compensating for the weaker arm in workouts that require both arms.⁣ -⁣ This workout also allows me to really isolate the bicep and get quality contractions as I keep the muscles under constant tension.⁣ -⁣ I like to keep the weight somewhere light to moderate so I can get a decent amount of reps. Barbell Step Ups (135lbs)⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ New addition to my leg workouts. I gotta say that although this targets a lot of quads I really felt it on my glutes as well. (My booty was burning)⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ My left leg was definitely exposed in this exercise. I was slightly slower stepping up on the left side and I will be working on evening both legs out.⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ My focus for this workout is to increase my individual leg strength. Dumbbell Lateral Raises (Drop set). ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ I did 4 sets of this workout and I did all drops sets to really hit my DELTOIDS. (30lbs to 15lbs)⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ I like to keep my chest out, pinch my scapula down, slightly bend my elbows, and initiate the movement with my elbows to really hit the delts.⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ What I like doing for this workout is to start heavier and not focus on strict form initially. HOWEVER when I drop to the lighter weight that’s when I put an emphasis on form (not swinging) and keeping tension on the delts despite being fatigued.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Also, I can’t figure out why my left arm goes higher than my right. Standing Overhead Press (Military Press) 4 sets of 6-8 reps. ⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ My go to SHOULDER workout. Really hits your anterior deltoids and really engages your core. (I feel it on my triceps as well on the lockout)⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ As I said before, big movements lead to big gains and this is definitely one of those exercises.⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ If you have not tried this before, I would recommend starting off with just the bar in order to get comfortable with the form. Bench Press Drop Set! (Been awhile since my last bench post)⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I was aiming for 4 sets of 5 reps (205lbs). On the last set however I was able to push myself and get 8 reps with 205 and 11 reps with 135.⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ I like to utilize dropsets a lot on chest day on my last sets of my exercises.⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ I find that it has been a great tool for me to further push my muscles when they are ALREADY fatigued. I believe this has been beneficial for me in terms of hypertrophy and muscle endurance.⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ Felt pretty comfortable with this weight and I’m slowly creeping back up to heavier weight. A little frustrated I’m still weighing 132lbs but I can live with it as long as I continue to get stronger.⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ Back to lifting 225 next week!
