Had a lot of fun and gained amazing experience a few days ago when a group of us went out and inoculated loblolly pine and shumard, cherrybark, and nuttall oak snags with fungi to analyze cellulosic changes and increase wildlife value! It's always a fun and interesting time in the field! 🤓 #scienceiscool#womeninscience#getupandgetout
Been a couple of years since I’ve been in Canada, so I’m excited to head to Whistler in just over a week! It’ll be our first time there and my first time skiing in spring. Hoping for some favorable conditions! #canadainwinter
I am learning every day to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be, to inspire me and not terrify me.
The gym is a perfect outlet and I’m loving what it’s doing to my body AND my mental health. It’s truly incredible what working out has taught me. Seriously. Try it. It’s difficult to get motivated but to let go and focus on breathing, on lifting, on running... on your goals. Allow it to take control. Allow yourself to fail and to start over. Allow yourself to push past the pain. Allow yourself to feel the burst of adrenaline/proud moment that comes right after a PR or right after a tough run that you mentally pushed yourself through... Allow yourself to get lost in something that betters your physical and mental health. It’s incredible the positive changes you’ll see in your life all together. Your fitness it 100% mental, your body will go wherever your mind pushes it. There are 7 days in the week and “someday” is not one of them. Start today because if not now...when?
Monday motivation to get your week going! Here’s the Sierra Mountain Miners in the famous Schussing the Mountain race. Think about how fast YOU would go on 12 foot wooden skis! Anyone out there have a pair of these?
Feels so good to be back on the snow again - three and a half months after breaking my tib and fib in Whistler, thinking I would be sitting this season out. I’ve worked hard at my recovery - and I’ll be making the most of what’s left of that snow! 👊🏻

May love and laughter light your days and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons bring the best to you and yours.
An Old Irish Blessing

Today I’m donating 25% to the Hayden Fund. To do it, I need your help!
Buying art empowers artists. Donating empowers advocates. I’m asking you to do both. Buy my art this weekend and I will donate 25% of your purchase to the Hayden Fund in defense of our public lands. You’ll find selected prints and original watercolors at www.smallflowerarts.com. And of course, custom requests are welcome!
Our friend Hayden was a champion for the landscapes we love as adventure athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. This fund keeps Hayden’s passion alive by putting much needed dollars into the campaigns that are now fighting to preserve and protect our culturally, ecologically and recreation rich lands.
Buy art. Not only will you empower artists and advocates, you’ll empower our community to embrace the powerful voice in our collective lungs. Let’s sing loud my people!
