Went on an scooter ride to a hot springs. Took a wrong turn and found a geyser and viewpoint along the way. Eventually found the hot spring as well. Another wonderful day of adventuring in Pai.
On Presidents' Day, it's nice to celebrate all the amazing national parks that were created by past presidents. For example: Yellowstone National Park, shown here, which was created by President Ulysses S. Grant in 1872. Many of our hiking and cycling trips take place in national parks.
Pohutu Geyser in Te Puia.
Pohutu Geyser in Te Puia. It erupts to a height of 30m up to 20 times a day, and once erupted non-stop for more than 250 days! The unforgettable smell of sulphur, clouds of steam and volcanic activity are a natural part of life in Rotorua.
Exporing the Wai-O-Tapu geothermal park in Rotorua! Such a cool place to visit - it felt like I was exploring another planet 😅 Bubbling hot pools, green lakes, strange rock formations and steaming craters! 👽
This may have been my favorite spring from the snowshoe trek along one of Yellowstone's many geyser basins. It was nice and warm on the cliffside thanks to the giant pool below and steady breeze.
You’ll see the steam coming from the geysers. This place is really cool and they have restaurants that actually cook their food in these!
So apparently, geysers got their name from Iceland and here’s the original, Geysir. There are multiple with a pretty small area, but only one erupts regularly. And we caught it on video 🤗 It was really so neat to watch. #iceland #geyser #geysir #goldencircle #waitforit
