My name is Grace Strong (@barbarian_heart
), and I am from Issaquah, WA. I grew up in Washington on a small farm with good old-fashioned country values. As a kid, I was not allowed to have much screen time, and absolutely no video games. My four sisters and I were told to go play outside, and our homeschooling allowed for a lot of time to make mud bricks, climb trees, and play with our animals. I helped butcher chickens, muck stalls, and stack firewood.
I developed a fascination with firearms at a young age and bought my first pellet rifle with my birthday and babysitting money when I was 11. By 19, I was shooting pistol competitions, and training to be a firearms instructor. Instead of going to college, I took shooting courses and trained aggressively. After 9 years in the firearms industry teaching people from all walks of life about shooting and self-defense, I transitioned to a career in marketing for a defense corporation.
I now live on my own small farm and enjoy shooting, riding dirt bikes motorcycles, fishing, and loving on my four dogs. Spending time outdoors as a child gave me a profound appreciation for nature. I hold hunting, farming, fishing, and gardening as sacred - harvesting with sincere respect and gratitude and always striving to give back more than I take. I love connecting with and learning from other women who feel the same. #SportswomenCertified
