Leeetttt's taaaaalk body image! When I first looked at this picture, I literally said out loud "oh, that's so cute!" But then when I go to post it, I automatically start to pick out all the flaws mentally that I see. My brain says "wtf are you doing with your hands? Damn why is your face still that chubby? You smile like that in every picture you post. Where did all that acne come from- can you wash your damn face?" MY First thoughts are still that of negativity for myself. Even after MONTHS of working on me, of having cute little baby abs, of eating right very consistently- it still defaults to "I'm not good enough." . . But you know what? Those default thoughts DON'T MATTER. Yep, you read that right. Your brain sucks. It's a liar. It defaults to those negative thoughts because that's what I trained it to do. For Years all I thought about was how much I hated parts of myself or how I wasn't deserving of anything nice or good friends or a healthy relationship. I trained my brain to think that way for Most of my life. So of course that's my first thought. . . What matters most is the thought that comes after that default negativity. "Actually, I'm cute af. It's crazy how much healthier I've gotten in the last few months. I look genuinely happy." . . I'm so glad my attitude is changing. It's a process to retrain your brain. Of course it is. But I promise you- it's worth the work 💓 ---------------------- My "All or Nothing August Accountability" group starts on August 1! Just a little bit. One bite… Just one more and then that’s it.. oh what the hell.. I’m going to enjoy this!.. WHAT HAVE I DONE?! Sugars, being carbohydrates, release serotonin (our feel-good brain chemical), which is why we naturally get a great sense of satisfaction from it. We just need to realize that the same chemical is released when we eat other forms of carbohydrates like fruits, vegetables and whole grains. The downfall of grabbing that candy bar or that sugary donut to beat that slump is that even though it quickly satisfies your hunger and you get that burst of energy, you’ll be hungry again relatively quickly and crave more after your sugar level plummets. SO, how do you eliminate these intense cravings? HAVE A LITTLE – a snack-sized candy bar, a 90cal froyo ice cream bar (that’s my go to) but limit yourself to no more than 150 calories of this treat. If you feel like you cannot just have “a little” then consider eliminating it and instead. Keep in mind that the first 48hrs are the hardest but people who have eliminated sugars on a whole for a couple of days have found their taste buds become more sensitive to sugar and crave less over time. GRAB SOME FRUIT – not only will you satisfy that sugar craving BUT you’ll get the bonus of fibre and nutrients! EAT REGULARY – when you starve your body for a long period of time, you are prone to make irrational decisions on what you “want.” To avoid this, eat every 4-5 hours to keep your blood sugar level regulated QUALITY IS BETTER THAN QUANTITY – we all have favourites and it would be a crime to DENY ourselves of them completely. Instead, have something small and of great quality opposed to a tremendous serving of something that will be less satisfying. HOW ABOUT HAVING A BIT OF THE GOOD AND THE NOT SO GOOD – try adding a couple dark chocolate chips in your oatmeal or trail mix OR even try dipping a banana or strawberries in dark chocolate! Lesson if the week. Put your damn feet in supportive shoes when working out. I pretty much live in these flip flops all year round. I hate hot feet!!!🙄🙄🙄 I will sleep with my whole body covered at night but my feet will hang out of my blankets. No hot feet for me. So when I work out, and put these suckers in socks, sneakers and work up a sweat...aaaahhhhhhhh it's bad. Well, I saw people doing workouts bare feet and thought, SWEET!!! This works for me. Lesson learned. Don't watch and do what others do, stay in your own lane. Do you and you will be ok!!! Quite a fee years ago, I ripped my meniscus discs in my knees and it was a painful recovery. Last nights workout was filled with lots of cardio/jumps. Not a good combo with the impact of my foot on the floor and nothing to absorb the shock. My knee is feeling it today.😥😥 So tonight is leg day and now I need a muscle relaxant and should be taking it easy but life requires me to move today and use my knee. I will try it out later and if it's too much, thank goodness I have the flexibility within my program to move the day to where my body is ready. #Liift4forlife

It’s hard to believe that tomorrow marks our 6 year wedding anniversary... and truthfully, i probably would have forgotten if my grandma didn’t ask me if we were doing anything special. 🤷🏼‍♀️ {{life gets crazy!!}} Instead of waiting until tomorrow to write a sappy love post, I decided why wait?!? I just want to announce that I APPRECIATE all my husband does for our family. I think this is something we all want and deserve to hear more of. If someone goes to work daily and then comes home to still spend time making your babies laugh, or helps with meals {{and let me be honest}}, he does a majority of the cleaning... he DESERVES APPRECIATION. {something I need to work on}}• Something I’ve learned over the years to make the relationship better, is to FOCUS on what’s good. Talk to others about the good. Share all the positives and things that make you happy. When I would allow little things that bothered me to become my focus.. like dishes left where he finished his meal instead of walking them to the sink, or leaving items used to make a meal sitting on the counter..and that’s what I would talk about to friends... they may think he’s a slob and expects me to pick up after him. Just like he can say that I rarely fill up the keurig and I will do the laundry, but actually putting it where it goes.. well that may be a while! Hahah. But you get what I mean?!! We all have little things that could drive us a little crazy if we let it. OR you can talk to friends about how he cleaned the whole house while you took your kids to Idlewild. And how he still cooks breakfast for you. And gives you a back rub if you ask for it! If you share the good, everyone will see how amazing your spouse is, and only you have to know about the few things that make you nuts! And always.... greet them like a puppy! ❤️
Day 3 and I think I’m in love. This program is EXACTLY what I needed. Picking up those weights while gansta rap blasts in the background takes me to my happy place. My shoulders may hate me tomorrow, but my heart is so happy doing something I love so much. With each rep I’m able to release the weight of life and clear my head at the same time. I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I can’t wait for leg day tomorrow... #soretodaystrongtomorrow
