Being able to see myself as my own competition has helped me better myself so much these couple of years. Although it does get difficult when I see others around me progressing at a higher rate and lifting heavier weights, I just remember the fact that I’m running my own race without anyway one else.

Starting a new 6 week strength programme using the congrats method. So that’s 2 days of max effort and 2 days of dynamic effort upper and lower body a week. Trying out whole lot of new exercises and I’m so so pumped to get started. Decided to increase my calorie and carb intake now with this new method. My progress and strength responded a lot better. I’m so exited to see the results.

Tested out my 1RM squats today after training on Monday which may not have been the best idea. Just about managed to hit 77.5kg squat but the depth was more than question and couldn’t even hit 80kg which was my personal goal 😭. Very hard to shrug these failures off and move on when the gym is my ultimate form of stress relief especially when I’m trying not to revert back to old habits and find comfort in food. #GymMotivation#GymQuote#GirlGains

W10:D4-> Caught the stomach bug and have been completely ill for the past few days. Slowly recovering but unable to eat much therefore my body is quite weak. Down to 57kg and I can definitely feel it in my strength 😭 #GirlsWhoLift#GirlGains#FlexingLadies
W6:D2 -> Quite an easy session today working on technique more than high reps or weights. Managed to improve my posture on the squats despite my tight hip flexors. Also got to try out some strongman training using a 15kg ball.

W5:D2 -> Woke up feeling happy and content with myself. Aced this evenings circuit class. Way more cardio than I can cope with but I managed to power through. 💪🏾👊🏾 #GirlsWhoLift#GirlGains

W4:D6 -> Spinning for an hour followed by an upper body lifting session. Managed to hit 37.5kg on the bench for the first time (3X4). Diet is still a mess but happy that I’m getting stronger. #NewPB#Bench#GirlsWhoLift
W3:D2 -> just before my circuits class. Didn’t intend on lifting weights today as I have an intense lower body powerlifting session tomorrow but just couldn’t resist seeing if I could beat my PB of 90kg. Managed to small 95kg and 100kg deficit deadlifts. Plus still killed it in an hour long circuits class with a lot of cardio. Feeling very accomplished indeed 💁🏾♀️ #NewPB#Deadlift#GirlsWhoLift
