At “The White House” ruins in Canyon De Chelly.
Here, Native American lands flooded with the spirits of the ancestors.
The Great spirit allows the ancient ones to return and offer wisdom and guidance to the Dinetah (Navajo people). A myriad of these spirit ancestor angels course through the sky, blessing the land with knowledge and strength and such great beauty.
After touring these amazing sights during the day, I was very lucky to see that the sky was going to be clear and the hotel just happened to be only 10 miles from these gorgeous canyons and skies. So after a quick dinner, I drove back to a few amazing pull out areas and set up my equipment to capture many star trails over the course of a few hours. As always, all single exposures. A calming owl kept me company with its hoots and a crowing, surprisingly, was heard in the distance which was strange I thought to hear at 1am.I couldn't help but think to how many eons of Native American people had stood in this same spot and watched those same skies and talked to their ancient ancestors from below those skies.

Love is in the air today... and in the sea and definitely on the land here and it seems to have spread quickly with this bunch. There are about 37 harbor seals in this photo and there were about 8-10 more outside the right of the frame in the bay of Sandy hook in Highlands, NJ What a huge bunch, or is it a herd, troop, parade, gang, flock, rafter, bloom, swarm, drove, battery, colony, brood, army, coalition ...?? Those are names for different types of creatures but it’s actually called a herd.

🍫HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY🍫
A quick swooping flyby and I only had time for this one shot.
Based on my passion for photography vs my passion to work can you guess what I’m doing too little of vs too much of.?? I missed the entire super moon event. :-(( Its not my most exciting photo but there’s so little to shoot near me during this desolate gloomy winter season. —/I must say that this is a rather atypical view though, background included and I didn’t hike very far or lug around a ton of gear to get it. Maybe colorless skies for BIF are my thing/—
