During the month of December, three African Vision of Hope teachers and administrators flew from Zambia to St. Louis to participate in a partnership with a local Christian school, Westminster Christian Academy. During their time at this prestigious school, the teachers’ main focus was to learn how to integrate a Biblical worldview into their existing curriculum. They were also able to hear Mike Matheny share his testimony at chapel! Click the link in our bio to read more about their time in the USA.

Gustavo is an eleven year old that attends our #WesleyanChurch

He is now home and we are raising funds to build him a bathroom because currently he only has an outhouse that he cannot use. “These students are eager to learn and grateful to be able to go to school. Without S.O.U.L. and Mama Ali, these girls might not be in school, and even though they attend S.O.U.L. pre-primary, there is no guarantee they will become S.O.U.L. sponsored students or that their families will be able to pay their school fees in order for them to continue their education.” Read the full blog post through the link in our bio!

World AIDS Day is held on the 1st December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day, held for the first time in 1988.
Globally there are an estimated 34 million people who have the virus. Despite the virus only being identified in 1984, more than 35 million people have died of HIV or AIDS, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in history.
Today, scientific advances have been made in HIV treatment, there are laws to protect people living with HIV and we understand so much more about the condition. Despite this, people do not know the facts about how to protect themselves and others, and stigma and discrimination remain a reality for many people living with the condition.
World AIDS Day is important because it reminds the public and Government that HIV has not gone away – there is still a vital need to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education. The federal theme for the 2018 observance is “Saving Lives through Leadership and Partnerships.”
This will also be an occasion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of World AIDS Day – a pioneering global health campaign first initiated by WHO in 1988.
WHO advocacy and communication for World AIDS Day 2018 will aim to achieve the following objectives:
1.Urge people to know their HIV infection status through testing, and to access HIV prevention, treatment and care services;
2. Urge policy-makers to promote a “health for all” agenda for HIV and related health services, such as tuberculosis (TB), hepatitis and noncommunicable diseases.

This Thanksgiving as we gather around tables for morning tea to big dinners, we want to say thank you for all of our partners and the wonderful work they are doing around the world and thank you to you for the support you give Thistle Farms Global!
Had a great morning visiting Children of Blessing and seeing some of the amazing work they do.
They work with special needs children and their families providing a range of services including: occupational therapy, speech therapy, epilepsy care, preschool and nutritional care.
They also help mothers start small businesses so they can provide for their children.
I visited their main centre in Lilongwe but they have 11 other community clinics that they provide monthly services at to over 1200 children.
