Tip number 3 - TAKE A BREAK. Only having to think of what you’ve got on, no nappy changes, hot cups of tea/coffee/hot chocolate/Ovaltine (🤷🏼♀️), coherent conversations with adults, not sharing your food...all exciting features of being away from the kids. However, now is not the time to underestimate the mental load that comes from work (that’s before we’ve got to home!). —————————
You’re always on - getting you and whoever else ready to leave the house, going to work and delivering, busy evenings and starting all over again tomorrow. Taking time out during your day is THE ONE. Time when you don’t have to think so much, when you can get a bit of fresh air, text that friend that you’ve been meaning to catch up with. ————————-
It doesn’t have to be long, there isn’t a rule book, but finding the time to decompress will reduce the overwhelm. Time is a cruel mistress, slipping through our hands at what can feel like the speed of light - there’s no denying that, but using it in a way that you value is ✅✅✅. Plan it in and tell someone else you’re doing it - you’ve made yourself accountable to doing it then!
