When I first bought my Freightliner FS-65 44-66 passenger schoolbus in spring of 2016, & started converting it with Gothic Hangman , I had no clue of how it would change the way I exist in the world or how it would lead me directly back to my true self. I did things a certain way and wore ruts deeper and deeper into the road...despite trying to find ways off that old road. When @kaegabrielle
was born (1992), I had an old Dodge Ram (former Ma Bell van) with a futon mattress in the back. I almost gave birth to her in it as @michaelgrimaldi
drove me to a farmhouse in the Taconic Valley to have my planned home birth in the countryside (Ghent, NY). I had a strong dream back then, of living in the woods in a yurt; raising my child as a wild thing!
But the city called me back to learn some more and grow some more and receive more blessings...when @copperseneca
was born (1998) at Elizabeth Seton on 14th street, I had another 2 years of nursing school to go, and I timed it so @gryffen1
was born 2 months after I graduated, in my living room in Brooklyn. I had always planned to leave the city back then (2000) & raise my little family in upstate NY. But...NYC wasnt done with me yet. I had more lessons to learn, experiences to have and growth to achieve before I was truly ready for my sweet dream of returning to the mountains. I created "Kat Mon Dieu" as a buffer between me and the aspects of city life that both lured and confounded me at the same time. I didnt know any other way to exist harmoniously within the city. She (Kat) led me places Julie was too shy to go, searching for that way back to the places that spirit lives. You'd be surprised what curious corners hold powerful manifestations of spirit. My heart was on a quest to return to truth and simplicity...my physical self was restricted by location; but I had carte blanche to explore my psyche and how I could dance, revel and adorn the entity I called home for my entire adult life.
There are a million stories...katmondieu is merely one chapter!
In 2019 I'm following my heart to the Catskills to be with my love @hoppyquick
, create a family home base (home is where you park it!)...and write those books❤
