My acting agent emailed me recently, telling me that they think I'd be great for a brief they received for a breakfast cereal TV Commercial.
They first requested a self-taped audition to be made though and from this they would then select those they want to audition in person.
It is breakfast time and our characters have just finished a bowl of fibre cereal. There’s the feeling of satisfaction as they feel great, starting their day right. Hearing the music, they begin to feel the rhythm and move along to the music.
As the music builds they begin to dance and tap their tummy, like nobody is watching. It’s joyful, confident, and in rhythm with the music. We want personality and their own individual style of dancing. It can start small and get bigger as they track goes on, remembering to incorporate the tummy tapping like you would keep the beat by clapping your hands.
We want to see people having fun, but we especially want to see some great dancing!
Attached is a music track to use for their self-tape casting. Music should be played at the start of their video so they can move and tap along to the music, like a music video. *For tummy tapping, it should be kept around the belly button area and an obvious movement. It doesn’t need to happen the whole way through the song, but as often as it feels natural to keep the beat.
The music attached was Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake and I had a lot of fun doing it regardless of whether I succeeded or not.
I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it!
