Is exercise during pregnancy a waste of time? 🤔 I often hear women say, “I’ll just wait until I’m done having babies to start,” as if exercise during pregnancy is pointless and won’t benefit their changing bodies. Despite what many think, exercise is not all burning calories and “toning up,” especially during pregnancy.
Aside from the numerous health benefits of exercise during pregnancy, learning how to move with a growing belly can help you complete daily tasks with ease and confidence. Dialing in optimal breathing strategies can can aid in strength & stability, and help relieve pain or pressure. Not only will these things benefit you during pregnancy, but will help in your recovery postpartum and beyond.
Let’s take the carry and hinge/deadlift for example. Whether we like it or not, these are movements most of us do frequently throughout the week. Carrying a load of laundry up the stairs and putting it on the floor is similar to carrying a kettlebell down the hall and hinging to put it down. Don’t do laundry? What about carrying a toddler, groceries, dog food - you’re probably carrying something!
During this pregnancy, I’ve found that leaning forward slightly & untucking my bum when carrying something (or someone!) makes me feel stronger and takes pressure off my back and belly. Taking a wider stance and exhaling throughout the hinge/deadlift makes my SI (pelvis) feel more stable and painless.
Exercise has been a life saver this pregnancy. It’s not really challenging or sweat inducing. “Easy” exercise has its place in everyone’s program - don’t underestimate it.
What “easy” exercise is making you feel great right now?
Anyone else struggle with feeling "busy" all the time? 🙋🏼 I mean when did "crazy busy" become the norm?
Trust me, I get it!
As a former athlete, I spent the first three decades of my life completely ignoring my body and pushing it to the limits physically and emotionally. And that eventually caught up with me. .
Since then, I've vowed to make self-care a priority and I want the same for YOU, sweet friends. We truly can’t feel our best and serve those around us if we’re not taking time to recharge our mind, body and soul. Check out the link in my bio for five ways you can start practicing self-care today. 💕

It's a great day to be alive ❤ let's slow down today and actually hear the birds..feel the breeze on our skin, and breathe in the clean air... Feeling thankful to be alive ✨#gratefulme
Since the day she was born my girl has slept best on my chest. For 11 weeks I have cherished this time and let it take priority over everything else.
It’s gotten me thinking...what if we viewed babies who refuse to go down for a nap in a positive way, as a reminder that we need to slow down?
The laundry, the dishes, the errands we have to run can wait. Sometimes I feel guilty thinking about the chores I need to get done. And then I remember that I will never get this time back and I’d rather spend it bonding with her over doing anything else.
Our bodies go through crazy stress during pregnancy and childbirth. And then they go through even more exhaustion during the sleepless nights that follow. Maybe the babies who want to be held while they sleep are actually giving us a gift. They’re allowing us to slow down and rest too.
So, if you’re like me right now...stuck under a sleeping child with a messy house, full bladder and a dying phone...try to just close your eyes and enjoy it. Rest up, mama. You deserve it. ❤️
You know what’s hard? Getting caught in the comparison trap. I’m not talking about comparing yourself to other people - I’m talking about comparing yourself to a previous version of yourself.
I was blissfully pregnant with James. Honestly, it was easy. I proudly carried kettlebells all day long at work, took daily walks, painted the nursery & furniture with ease, finished my Precision Nutrition cert, and napped whenever I needed rest.
This pregnancy is harder. Don’t get me wrong, it could be worse, but some days I’m really struggling. I often catch myself feeling angry that I can’t do everything I used to do or that I want to do; angry that I’m tired and would rather sleep all day; angry that these varicose veins are uncomfortable and require me to take even more rest.
I let myself have the pity party and then I bring myself back to reality. I can’t do everything I used to, but look at what I *can* do. The veins hurt but I’m grateful for semi-cute compression socks that make me smile. I can’t swing a kettlebell, but I can still move in a way that feels good to my body. I’m grateful that things could be worse, and they’re not.
It’s so easy to get stuck in the comparison trap, whether it’s with yourself or someone else. If it happens, give yourself some grace, then reframe and find gratitude. You don’t have to stay there.
The past month has been a challenge. During this time I started a new medication which is working fantastically for its primary purpose.
The downfall is the side effect of appetite suppression which has hit hard. Never in my life have I forgot to eat, who does that? Time passes and meals are missed unintentionally. Needless to say lack of nutrition has left me feeling tired and weak. By 2pm I was becoming light headed and dizzy. Becoming physically ill I’ve not been able to work out the past two weeks and not working out has depleted the muscles I worked so hard for at 5:30am.
We all go through hard times and challenges and this is just another hurdle to jump. This evening I shopped and plan to meal prep when I am off on Wednesday. I’ll be setting reminders to fuel up which seems odd but I am determined to do whatever it takes to get on track, feel energized, and get back into the program I was so loving.
If you have any tips this girl would love to hear them!

Are you going for it?
I’m talking about your big goals, dreams, and desires? Or are you letting fear get the best of you? If I let fear get in the way, I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today. Most of the time the root cause of fear is really the worry of what others will think, being laughed at, or worse, doing it wrong. Here’s the thing, if there is worry about others judging you, I’d worry more about why the lack of support. If you make a fool of yourself, learn to laugh at yourself AND be proud of your attempts. Lastly, doing the things is how we learn and the quickest way to acquire self confidence. So do what you’re afraid of? Build that confidence and courage by just jumping in. Stop imagining the worse and imagine the amazing. What you’ll gain is a whole lotta feedback, lessons learned and the feeling of overcoming your fear.
What are you willing to do scared?

My favorite part of this company is the events it puts together. Super Saturday is exactly what I needed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Bonus for meeting a higher up coach from our sister team and spending quality time with her and picking her brain.
Lately, I’ve not felt my best physically or mentally this afternoon refilled my cup with joy and happiness being surrounded by positive likeminded ladies helping themselves and others 💚

I came across this headline the other day, “Over 80% of women are unhappy with their body image.”
Honestly I wasn’t shocked . We are constantly bombarded with opinions of how we should look.
Social media :
🌿sets unrealistic standards 🌿only shows a glimpse of someone’s reality 🌿the home of every ‘comparison trap’ ever !
But you serve a God who made you in His image , carefully placing every curve and bump in place .
YOUR BEAUTIFUL may be different to the image you saw in that magazine but that doesn’t take away from your BEAUTY.
You are beautiful !
And I hope you tell yourself that every single day and I pray that you will come to believe it .
✨If you know your worth no one can tell you otherwise .✨
Let’s spread some love 💕

Rainy day words for my little baby daughter about the days I always want to remember: 💗 Windsor James 💗
You save your smiles for your mama and not the camera. You only sleep soundly when you’re snuggled up next to me. Your eyes light up when you hear your dad’s voice and you totally tolerate being licked and sniffed by Gemma. Your spirit is content. You are calm, happy, sweet and easy. You sometimes cry when you’re ready for bed and mom hasn’t gotten the clue yet. You love to be strapped to my chest in your sling and your best naps happen when we fall asleep together in my bed. You chew on your hands all day long and I think someday soon you’ll be sucking your thumb. If you’re fussy all I usually need to do is put music on and dance with you. You’re a boob girl, no bottles or pacifiers seem to work but mama’s gonna keep trying. Basically, you are amazing and we keep falling more and more in love with who you are. And your toes..girl...I just can’t get enough.
