There is this gem just on the edge of town in Jackson Hole, WY that has a pond in the Elk Refuge. This pond is a treasure trove for birds. If you arrive just minutes before sunrise you will see the golden light beaming of the water as the ducks and swans flap their wings.

With fires raging all across the West and thick smoke choking our beautiful valley it is quite the news headline this morning to see the #EPA
is going to rollback regulations on air pollution from coal fired plants and vehicle emissions.
Good news: coal stocks are up today, and the haze made a cool sunset last night... This legislation is #outrageous
and is literally killing us! With polls opening in #Wyoming
today just wanted to send out a reminder that everyone's #vote
matters and it is critical to vote out the #climatedeniers
! Cutting down all the trees and burning more coal is not a solution to stop the fires!
My week of Jackson Hole posts kicked off on Rhyme & Reason yesterday! First up: this adorable gingham dress + I spilled on our favorite things to do in Grand Teton National Park as well as the best photography spots in the park 💕 #rrjetsets

One year ago today I was in Wyoming watching the total solar eclipse. There are moments in life that will remain with you forever and for me, this is one them.
Can’t believe this was a year ago today. One of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen with my own eyes. #Eclipse2017
I was in the Grand Teton National Park for the eclipse & it was unreal. This eclipse was one of the most amazing events I've ever witnessed & watching it at Table Mountain (11,100 ft) with awesome people from all over the world, added to the already overwhelming visual & emotional experience.
At the moment of totality, day turned to night in a matter of seconds & a 360° sunset on the horizon created a pink and orange glow around the mountains. Stars and planets appeared above & the crowed that was previously cheering & counting down the minutes went completely silent in pure amazement & awe. A little over two minutes later, which felt like 30 seconds, day came back just as quickly as it had disappeared. Afterward, as I sat in silence in the brightening day, I found myself suddenly unable to speak. Now my vision blurred with tears as the full impact of what I'd just experienced overwhelmed me. The people in the crowed that were lively & shouting out the stages of the eclipse, sat in awe. Some cried, some prayed as they were on a spiritual mission & some hugged a complete stranger next to them.
If you ever have a chance to see an eclipse at totality, do it! It is one of the most amazing events you'll ever witness.
“Quick, get your marshmallow in there.”
TB from 2013 when I went on a solo hike in Grand Teton and all of a sudden I ran into this bear 🐻 I just found my external hard drive with pictures from so many trips I’ve done. To be continued 🌲🌎
Summertime... and the living is easy... 📹SW Ridge, Symmetry Spire, Tetons, Wyoming🏔🇱🇷
Grand Teton National Park was breathtaking. The kids thought this was one of the most fun days yet.
Here are the highlights:
Jenny Lake - Jenny Lake sits at the foot of the Tetons and has the most pristine waters. Swimming In the lake is not for the faint of heart but we all really enjoyed it!! Temps are very brisk which is probably why, as a family, we made up the majority of those actually in the water. Cold therapy over the past 9 months may have been the best preparation for this trip and especially swimming in Jenny Lake.
Wildlife - We saw a grizzly bear. We were about 50 yards from it which if you’ve been in this neck of the woods you know they require you to stay at least 100 yards away. But, we jumped out of our cars to see what the crowd gathered by the road was watching and then realized it was a grizzly bear. Within seconds of seeing it someone started yelling frantically for everyone to get in their cars. Looking back I realize how crazy the whole experience was. Some people were much closer to the bear than us, probably only 30 yards away. It would have been wise to stay in the car but we were curious. As in most instances, this is where following the “everyone else is doing it so it must be ok” train of thought proved to be unwise 😬
Jackson Hole • This fun little touristy town had an organic cafe where I got a frozen green smoothie. Yes, this is a highlight from the day 😁 The kids bought some fun tees and we hit up a local toy store that had specialty toys from all over the world. I kept thinking about my mom and how much she would have loved it! We ended our time in Jackson Hole with lunch on a golf course restaurant with the Tetons as the backdrop. #jacksonhole #grandtetonnationalpark #grandtetons
