Man has always strived to learn and master new things. But there are certain fields that man must tread very carefully. With the feeling that we have successfully mastered something breeds complacency, and with complacency will come mistakes, and those mistakes can create disasters.
On September 30, 1999, there was a nuclear accident at a nuclear plant in Tōkai, Ibaraki, #Japan
. This accident resulted in 2 deaths. It is one of these men we are learning about.
Hisashi Ouchi, was rushed to the hospital, he was throwing up, and was highly irradiated. His whole body was badly burned, his internal organs were badly damaged, and he had a white blood cell count near 0! And this next fact is literally unbelievable. All of his chromosomes were destroyed!!! He would of died shortly after the accident, but he was so highly irradiated that scientists figured they'd keep him alive for study. He was begging to die less than one month after the accident because the pain, shortly thereafter he was completely unable to speak. Even when his #heart
stopped, the scientists kept bringing him back to life. After 3 months of unbelievable agony, he finally passed away. HIS CHROMOSOMES WERE DESTROYED!😲😲😲
~i want to stress this next point. I provided a blurred photo of Ouchi while in the #hospital
. the full unblurred version is easily found, but and I know this is cliche, I highly HIGHLY recommend that if you are queasy to graphic images, DO NOT try to view the original image. It is highly graphic and I was barely prepared to how gory his injuries looked~
