Sometimes I feel like this bird, alone on an adventure, with companionship only somewhere on the distant horizon; some of the mountains and landforms I go to, void of a human presence. I think winter changes things.
Life is like that. Sometimes you’re in the winter season, and while it’s may be lonely or uncertain in outcome, it’s also full of surprises and beauty. The key is to respect the season. Let yourself get from each experience and place in time, the experiences, lessons, learning, and growth you’re intended.
It’s better to grow and change now, than find yourself in the same place next winter, (unless you really want to)! After all, for all it’s good, this place, isn’t it preferable to expand your horizons and see new things? You can’t get to your next destination if you’re in an amusement park, stuck on a merry go-round that no one can pull the lever for but you.
Plus, it all depend on your perspective. Standing on this beach in Queensland, Australia in December, vs standing on a beach in Oregon in December, my whole visceral experience would have changed due to just temperature alone. Think about the perspective and place the next time you gauge your emotions in some moment in time. Is it really the place, thing, person, or even yourself you’re feeling things about? Or might your feelings change if your position or perception does, or even just time passing and the light changing?
