The first hearing for a Colorado bill that would let firearms be removed from owners with a high risk of harming themselves or others got under way Thursday afternoon at the Capitol.
If passed, the bill would allow law enforcement, a family member or a household member to petition a judge for the removal of a person’s firearms via something called an extreme risk protection order. The judge would hold a hearing — without the gun owner being present — to decide whether to grant a temporary order for up to 14 days.
During those two weeks, all the parties would have to appear before the judge, who would then determine whether the firearms should be kept for up to 364 days. “I have to tell you that this is a strange day for me. Today would have been Zach Parrish’s 31st birthday,” Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock told the House Judiciary Committee during his testimony in support of the bill.
Spurlock’s deputy, Zackari Parrish, was shot and killed by Matthew Riehl at a Highlands Ranch apartment complex in December 2017 while trying to negotiate with Riehl, who was in the midst of a mental health crisis. The bill’s sponsors, House Majority Leader Alec Garnett, D-Denver, and Rep. Tom Sullivan, D-Centennial, named it after Parrish.
“The world can be a nasty place, you know it, I know it, see we don’t have to fall from grace. Put down the weapons you fight with and kill ‘em with kindness.” It sucks when you meet people in life who seem like they’re so close to you and would be there for you except when you need or want them the most they wouldn’t do everything they could to be there for you. #killemwithkindness #selenagomez #truth #truthhurts #gun #guns #guncontrol
Makes sense as to why the would lower the voting age. The youngens are manipulated by their Marxist teachers. ———————————————————————- Oregon is trying to out-weird California.
Now, considering California for a moment, that’s a bold proclamation to make, but I think they are. Worse, though, I think Oregon’s succeeding. Not only is it considering a bill that will restrict ammunition in such a way as to make guns little more than expensive clubs, but it’s also looking at dropping the voting age down to 16.
The reason, at least in part, seems to be to allow more anti-gun voters into the electorate.
Sixteen-year-olds can drive and pay taxes. Soon, they may also be able to vote in Oregon.
Legislators have proposed an amendment to the Oregon Constitution that would lower the voting age from 18 to 16. If the bill passes, voters would decide on the proposal in the 2020 election.
State Sen. Shemia Fagan (D-Portland), one of the bill’s sponsors, announced the bill on Monday. “It’s time to lower the voting age in Oregon and give young people a chance to participate at the ballot about decisions that affect their homes, their clean air and clean water future, their schools, and as we’ve seen, their very lives,” Fagan said at a press conference.
Bill sponsors say they want the amendment to extend to federal elections.
Fagan pointed to the political activism of Parkland, Florida, students, who challenged lawmakers to tighten gun control laws after a gunman killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last February.
you guys should run deals and discounts for people who turn in their @benchmadeknifecompany
products and then you can destroy their knives like they do guns... @benchmadeknifecompany
, we all understand that there are policies regarding the destruction of firearms that were confiscated in crimes. It's just a matter business practices that most people don't care for. As a supporter and lover of the second amendment myself, I wouldn't want my company mixing with activities that are counter productive to our cause. Instead of cutting the guns as part of your social responsibility efforts, maybe you should put your efforts towards pushing legislation to fix the issues. It sickens me when I see guns being destroyed like that. There are millions of responsible gun owners that would take pride of rescuing those guns and taking them off the streets. @benchmadeknifecompany
, best of luck in your future endeavors, sincerely your former customer.✴

BEFORE SOME OF YOU GET AT THE COMMENTS AND ACCUSE ME OF BLAMING ALL MEN, READ MY CAPTION FIRST. I’m not saying girls can’t do the same things to guys, because they do, however gang rape is extremely high of men raping a woman, and there’s higher statistics of women being more likely to have revenge porn put out on them, be sexualised, cat called etc (look it up) I DONT blame the whole of the male population. This shit happens to anyone and we really need to start showing others how very fucking wrong it is.
