They hold a multitude of purposes. Whether it is adding load/resistance or providing assistance. Bands serve as a great tool in the gym. How do you like to use bands? Is it in your lifts? Your gymnastics? Or running/jumping? All sorts of options
Bands also serve as a great metaphor for the gym. Who is your band? Who pulls you along when you need it? Who makes things just a bit tougher to make you stronger? Who serves as that consistent push and pull for you? Who is the one telling you to wake up and come work out when your bed feels so cozy? Who is the one telling you it’s ok when things don’t go right in the gym?
Find that person to be your “band” whether it’s a good coach or a friend. We all need them!
