It’s been a week since I had a workout, but honestly I’m just proud of myself for not beating myself up about getting to the gym and trying to maintain this page. I had a wonderful time at Sydney and ate my way through the city without having to worry about “ruining” my body. Coming back from that trip made me realise so much about a few aspects in my life. So currently I am trying to figure and work out the funk I am in and slowly ease myself into new changes. I’m a person who hates change & would often get anxious about shifts in life. But the older I’ve gotten, it’s generally a good thing. It could even be the best thing. Take it step by step and all will fall into place. Sending beautiful and good vibes to all! 💖
Since I started my gap year I’ve grown so much in learning how to be the best version of myself. There’s only one you. Find your passions, follow what you believe in and stop thinking you have to be exactly like your biggest idols to be successful. You don’t have to be someone else to BE SOMEBODY. All these qualities you see and envy in the people you look up to, you already have within yourself, you just don’t realise because you’re too busy trying to be someone else. Don’t waste your life trying to be like someone else, don’t waste your time trying to impress everyone but yourself. Work with what you have and build the best version of yourself, create your own individuality for others to become inspired by. You only have one life, one body, one soul, treasure that.
Even though it rained the entire day today and my feet are drenched, I had an awesome experience in Nara. Never in my life have I ever seen deer roam so freely amongst people, traffic and shops. LEG DAY🏋🏼‍♀️ • Here are a couple of clips from tonights session if you fancy giving it a go! It’s a sweaty one🍑 • 4x8 Constant tension squats (stop before the ugly butt squeeze, I’ve seen this around a lot recently and wanted to give it a go, I’ll probably start alternating between both👌🏼) - 4x8 each leg resistance band (courtesy of @gracefituk ) glute kickbacks - 4x8 squat jumps • (Perform 1 set of each of the above moves with no rest inbetween and then have a rest, repeat 4 times👏🏼) • 4x10 deadlifts💪🏼 • I started with a 20 minute stairmaster warm up (I usually do 5-10mins) and glute activation🍑 Then I finished with a booty/leg burner which I also filmed so I’ll post that sometime soon💪🏼 • If you give this session a go make sure to let me know (that rhymed hehe) 🙌🏼✨ • I’m not a qualified pt, these are just the session I do myself, and I’m not claiming to have perfect knowledge or perfect technique☺️ • Happy hump day♥️ • @gymshark @gymsharkwomen @gymsharktrain @myproteinuk @myproteinwomen

As I am not allowed to bend my knees too much, I am being forced out of my comfort zone a LOT lately. I'm more of a conventional deadlift kind of gal, the Romanians have never really been my style and I'm hesitant to push myself in them for fear of getting #injured 🤕 Changing up your variations keeps your body guessing so it has to constantly adapt, and it can be so easy to just do what we're used to. Since going vegan, I have hardly ever found myself craving animal products. But lately, I have really just wanted a mountain of #nutella 😅 But as per always, there is a 100% better for you and equally delicious substitute available 😋 Particularly if its this home made vegan Not-ella! Simple af too, all you need is: • 3 cups hazelnuts (Optional - skins removed if you want a smoother texture) • 2 Tbsp Carob powder (cacao or cocoa will do too!) • 1-2 Tbsp Agave Syrup (Maple syrup or Rice Malt is great!) • pinch of salt Then all you do is lightly toast then really process your hazelnuts until you have a nut butter consistency and STIR in the carob, agave and salt! Give it a taste, and adjust carob and sweetener to your taste (I like more Carob and less agave) 💖 #Notella #chocolate ##realfoodfillstheplate
🔢Lets talk NUMBERS 🔢 I was always a math kind of gal, numbers just made a lot of sense. Lately (for years even) I've been stuck obsessing over the numbers in every aspect of my life. Whether its the grades I'm getting, how much I weigh, how many calories I eat/burn, the number of likes on a post, how many steps I take in a day, or how much I can 'lift'. For me it is such an easy way to measure, and so I go straight to it when I'm stressed. I count and it calms me down, but it can also be dangerous. When you start obsessing over the scale and the amount of food you eat you change your relationship with food and your body. While it is a great mechanism for losing weight - BE CAREFUL! Take a step back sometimes, don't count your calories, take off your fitness tracker, and just be. Who decides what they all mean anyway? I need this reminder every semester. Workouts to Avoid If You Are Trying to Lose Weight Are you committed to losing weight in the healthiest way possible? If so, then you probably know high intensity workouts are the way to a slim and toned body. Focus on the Total Body Workout (Not Specifically Targeted Exercises) If you want to lose more than 20 pounds, it doesn’t do you much good to do exercises that target a smaller muscle group. Exercises such as the flat bench press, bicep curls, or even calf raises aren’t the best use of your time—as they don’t maximize the fat blasting workout you could have with exercises that target larger muscle groups at once. Instead, shoot for a workout like the rowing machine, which will target your back, chest, shoulders, biceps and core all at once. Or, go for an ‘old school’ workout that includes jumping jacks, squats, jump rope, push-ups and lunges. Using your body weight as resistance is an excellent way to work your entire body out (no gym equipment needed!)
