These purple dwarf beans have started to give proper handfuls at harvest time. First experience growing beans has been a good one. Thanks to @ngmaluong
for helping to feed them, and feed me with the beans. Interestingly, they turn green when cooked.
Painted Mountain Corn
Definitely on my must grow list from now on.

My kale seems to laugh in the face of frigid temperatures! I have two and a half beds of kale left. We have done a pretty good job of eating as much as we want, whenever we want.
I knew it was cold hardy, so I planted a lot in early fall and it was well established by the 19th of November (the day the number of daylight growing hours for us dips below 10)
In just 5 weeks from now, our active growing season will begin once again in the hoop tunnels. I can't wait!! 💕😊🌱 In the meantime, looks like I've got my work cut out for me eating my greens!
Oh you guys, I am so thankful for all of you following along with my freckled shenanigans. Most everything that has happened, I never could have imagined. So now, I want to share our newest adventure with you!
Coturnix quail. The first time I held one (or tried) it flew out of my hands and onto the ground. I let out a shriek and said 'is he okay?! Oh my gosh, is he hurt?' And my husband laughed. This has happened many times since. Apparently, I don't know how to hold a quail...like at all. 😂 Sam is much better at it. Both Sam and I have never owned birds, so cheers to this new adventure! Hopefully some eggs will grace our harvest baskets soon 🥚🍳
