The exhibition in the Palazzo has ended and soon my time here in Malta will also be over. It feels like I have been here for months thanks to the wonderful friends that I have met here.
A little making of of the Bathroom installation in Zabbar. I'm happy to share space with @tomvanmalderen
who shows his Tables For The 1 Percent.
I like this kind of exhibition in spacious, characteristic buildings. The palazzo has been empty for about 50 years, but locals still have memories of when it was used as a police station under British rule and of when it was set on fire. The showertub involved in my installation was found in the building and dates back to that time.
The Bathroom, a place to confront the self, a place to take down layers of protection that we wear throughout the day.
The exhibition 'Zabbar’s Calling Citta Hompesch' opened yesterday as part of the @mahallafestival.
I have had many refreshing and open conversations and met great people. The Mahalla Festival proves successful in their mission to create connections.
The first part of my contribution to the @mahallafestival
has been installed today, at museum fortress Builders. Even now before the opening of the exhibition I already got encouraging reactions to the work which made me very happy.
The exhibition at this location will open on Monday at 13.00 with a performance, followed by a panel talk with several artists on the subject of Conflicting Territories: how do you cope as an artist with the current dispersal of living spheres regarding urban spaces, identities and globalization.

Today the Bathroom returned to the studio, ready to go to Malta next week to be part of @mahallafestival
, a cultural festival focused on language and migration, communities and diversity, new city cultures, mobile citizenship and future demands.
"Cutting Ties", silkscreen 30x42 cm.
This portrait accompanies my former work that carries the same name (swipe to see). It was made of the hair of one person. This new work is inspired on the photographs taken when he shaved it off.
Both are on view at my exhibition "Point of View" @konstbunkern
now, until the end of this month.
Thank you for joining the opening of the exhibition this weekend, making it one of the busiest nights at Bunkern Gallery so far. It felt great to share the highlights of my student years in Örebro with those who supported me on the way and to see new eyes on my work as well.
Today me and Remco match our work aesthetically. He is working on his new album 'Rural States' that will be released this winter and I am preparing screen prints that will be released next week on Friday, as part of my exhibition 'point of view' at @konstbunkern.
See you there!
On this particular day- Im feeling like very happy and lucky to be where I am. Just looking back on the last few years of my life and the journey I’ve been on. Making. It. Freaking. Happen.
ENJOY THE PROCESS MY FRIENDS

"The bathroom is a place of physical care taking. It is a place of retreat, were in the safety of privacy one cleans the body and rinses of the masks worn to adapt to public situations. It is therefore also a place of confrontation; the bathroom leaves no possibility to deny realities of the body. Normative imperfections or shortcomings must be dealt with or nursed. Physical conditions, changes or insecurities must be faced."
