Did you know there are pirate ships in Japan? They’re in Hakone and you can use them to get from one side of lake Ashu to the other. If you are lucky you can see Mt Fuji. This is from 2004 on my 3mega pixel camera.

Today’s picture from a dinner we had at a ryokan in Hakone.
Yesterday I wrote that I did not recognize most dishes that were served at that dinner. But I recognized a glass of cold sake that was served in a wooden box.
One other thing I learned at Hakone was that the oldest hotel in the world, Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan, was established in 705 A.D. Fascinating!
