It’s Friyay! Before I trained for my first marathon, my longest run on a weekday was maybe 5-6 miles. No time for anything else. Now I routinely run 7-9 on weekdays
Some friends were running 12 this morning, so they wouldn’t have to add miles to The Falmouth Road Race. So why not!
12 miles done before 8am. Falmouth here we come!
‼️ running advice wanted ‼️Ugh I’m so upset 😔 When I played sports as a teen I sometimes had knee issues and the dr always said it was just tendinitis. So I’ve been careful to stretch and ice during this half marathon training. But this morning I was supposed to run 7.25 and I had to stop at 6 because I had knee pain 😩 And I seriously wasn’t even tired so I did NOT want to stop. I don’t know if it’s because I didn’t do my other runs this week so I wasn’t warmed up enough? Or if it’s just my knees???? UGH 😣 I’m really bummed.
Didn’t hit any of my paces in today’s tempo run, but I attempted this run in some gross conditions (71 degrees with 100% humidity) that usually send me to the treadmill, so I’m just happy I had the courage to give it a try. The effort was certainly there, and I know the paces are in me, so I’m not discouraged. And I’m just so happy to have this run out of the way so I can focus on more important thing things this weekend, like going to see @pearljam

We have been together for almost 7 years so he is was there before running became my life. He was there when I gained a lot of weight in college, became really depressed, lost 50 pounds (but still pretty depressed because i wasn’t confident with my new body at all), and then now the aftermath where I’m past where I’ve lost weight and now the focus is the sport of running and the travel🏃🏼♀️ And because of this, I’ve found happiness and confidence 😊❤️ ABOUT TIME. .
He is my ultimate supporter for everything I do and he has supported me on this journey to travel doing all these half marathons. It gives him an excuse to get out of work and take a vacation 😏 he gets a vacation I get a racecation 🙌🏼 .
I couldn’t ask for a better partner in life and I can’t wait to marry him in June and do life together ❤️ .

This week I’ve been focusing on maintaining my fitness, only going out for 6 miles every time I run. I’m looking forward to slowly start increasing the mileage again to finally run a marathon.

Another episode of intimidation tempo Thursday! I’m always soooo nervous going into tempos, surprisingly pulled this one off pretty nicely.
Going into this cycle with a realistic goal. I know I can comfortably hold an 8:30 pace for at least 13 miles (I haven’t ran more than that in a few), it’s not too easy peasy but it also doesn’t leave me gasping for air. If I’m able to pull an 8:30 pace off for 26.2, it would still make for a nice PR. So trying to be smart about these tempos, as much as I want to see sub 8s, I know that isn’t best for my long distance game plan. I held onto 8:20-8:10ish really well tonight for my 7 tempo miles. I’m still working on consistent pacing but overall I’m proud of this one...and also proud of my mindset going into this race. 👊🏼🏃🏼♀️
The only downfall of these tempos is having to stop at intersections due to sidewalk running, I love trail tempos but with the overwhelming reports of whack-a-doodles attacking, I’m trying to refrain from hopping on the trial. It didn’t mess too much with my mojo tonight, though. 1 WU-7 @ GMP-2 CD. Splits in stories. *

Another 5 miles in the bank tonight. I totally nailed my steady state run with super consistent splits (9:02, 8:58, 9:02, 8:56, 8:58). And that’s not always an easy task when you have to stop for traffic every quarter mile. Man, there is SO MUCH more going on just one hour earlier in the evenings. It’s a Thursday night and my town was just a-hoppin! 🤷🏻♀️
